KH2 Rinoa?

While reading the FF Wiki I came across this in the Rinoa page (Non-Final Fantasy appearances):

 

"During the end credits of Kingdom Hearts II, Squall (named Leon) receives a letter from a girl who is presumably Rinoa. Her trademark "angel wings" icon appears from the letter, which might be hinting that she might appear in a future installment of the series"

 

Then I watched the KH2 credits and saw it was true, then if she may appear in the future how will she affect Leon and the others?, what kind of relationship she might develop with sora?, do you think she will be well-received(by the players)?, and How will they explain why leon left radiant garden with aerith, yuffie and the others, but left Rinoa behind? (unless she was in another world, a new one perhaps?)

 

I know its a lot of questions but I wanna know everyone's opinion on her possible appearance.

Well, I don't see how she will grow a relationship with Sora. Seeing as how he sort of does have a relationship with Kairi already. And even though she served as Squall's love interest in FF VIII I really don't think they will know each other in the KH universe. That's kinda like with Zack and Cloud, they knew each other in FF:CC but didn't know about one-another in KH. So it may work similiar to that. As for her role, well, I can't really say for sure. But if she does appear in future KH games, then she will most likely be in a different world other than Hollow Bastion/Radient Garden. Just look at Seifer, in the FF series, he was Squall's rival but in the KH series he never knew Squall/Leon. And he lived in Twilight Town. Same goes for Zack, he lived in Olympus Coliseum. But, if she does come from Hollow Bastion/Radient Garden then that will make another plot hole and probably leave some questions from KH fans.

In any case, i would love for Rinoa to make an appearance. they could do a little side story with squall like they did with cloud. for instance: Squall changed his name because he thought he couldnt save her and his world and so they fled all the while she survived and ended up on another world. or something to the effect. Maybe he'll start going by squall again.

 

Edit: also! it would be great if maybe Ultimecia would make an appearance as a secret boss

Just because Zack and Cloud were never seen together in KH, doesn't mean they don't know eachother in KH. Where did we first see Cloud? Olympus Colleseum. Also, Zack could have left OC at the end of BBS.

 

As for Rinoa, I believe she will have something to do with Leon, since she sent him a letter, which started this rumor that she will be in KH.

Perhaps after Maleficent took over Radian Garden/Hollow Bastion Squall and Rinoa were separated and (as TerraRedeemd said) she ended up in another world, and after looking for Squall for years she finally discovered he was in Radiant Garden and sent him a letter telling that very soon they would meet.

 

When I said relationship I meant as in allies, friends, amigos. I don't think sora would dump kairi for Rinoa or at least Nomura wouldn't allow it. Maybe she and Sora become so close that we end up getting a key chain from her.

 

And Ultimecia in KH would be awesome! I really wish FF enemies would be more important in KH, i mean in KH1 the Disney Villains played kind of an important role, i think FF Villains should be the same.

 

Also Memories play an important in the KH universe, what if Seifer lost his memories and that is why he doesn't remember about the gunblade and squall, maybe after Radiant Garden was taken over by Maleficent, he was defeated by the heartless and ended up in Twilight Town with Fuu and the Rajin but none of them have memories of their past (Just as Squall & Co. didn't remembered how was Radiant Garden before it became Hollow Bastion.

ok since i havent played FF 8 i'll refer to the cloud and zack discussion...

ok my thoughts are that zack went to OC to train to become a hero while cloud was in radiant garden. but zack didnt return so cloud went to OC to look for him and he wasnt there and hades saw him blah blah blah cloud got tricked, so cloud when focused on his light because maybe cloud knows what happened to zack. but i dont know this is all a guess

I think Zack went to OC to get stronger so he can be ready for getting in the 1st class , about cloud we can say it's a part of his journey to go to OC or maybe he went there for getting stronger so he can beat sephiroth , about searching for Zack I don't think so

Yes, yes, YES! I LOVE Rinoa Heartily. I so want her to appear in KH. I've wanted that for a while, actually. Anyway, I want her and Squall to be together (or friends with the promise of something more). Squall and Rinoa have one of the best love stories in FF. The other two main ones being Tidus and Yuna, and Snow and Serah. I'll be sad if we lose that in KH. Because really, I don't see how they couldn't be together. After all, there seemed to be something going on between Cloud/Tifa, and Cloud/Aerith like there is in VII.

 

Anyway, I imagine Sora and Rinoa could become good friends. Rinoa and Kairi are quite a bit alike, you know. Both are a bit cheeky, but they're not Selphie or anything. They can both be quite serious. So I definitely think Sora and Rinoa would get along.

 

For some reason, I imagine Rinoa calling "Leon" by the name Squall. He'll probably keep correcting her, but deep down won't mind. Rinoa's probably the only person Squall would let say his name.

 

Back to the questions: I imagine Rinoa will be well received by the KH fans. It's the Final Fantasy fans that'll be diverse. Some think she's the best heroine ever while some believe she's the most annoying thing ever.

 

Well, if you remember, Cid's the one that took the kids away. I imagine Squall wanted to go after Rinoa, but Cid wouldn't allow it, as it might have been a suicide mission. In the end, she probably ended up on another world like you said. I imagine what happened with Rinoa (if it did) might be the very reason that Squall changed his name.

 

About Ultimecia showing up... I wouldn't mind it, but I don't want it to be a huge deal. I am probably one of the only people that don

I would really like if Nomura, at least if he doesn't give FF characters a bigger role, to include more characters and maybe a world, the majority of the FF characters in KH are from VII and X, I would like to see characters from XIII and VI, maybe Terra could be the one who gives sora his summons and teaches him about magic, and Lighting appears in a world looking for serah but maleficent has captured her and tries to transform her into a heartless.

 

What I want is more FF characters appearances, more involvement (step by step, so as DenizenofTwilight said, Square doesn't get carried away) and world.

 

What are your Thoughts?

If they aren't in the nature of the game, at least Bartz.

As for a world, I'd say somewhere in the FFXII world. Besides, Vann looks great when he's drawn by Nomura.

 

Furthermore, I'd love Nomura to no end if they add in teenage versions of Tidus, Wakka and Selphie from Destiny Islands voiced accordingly, ya?

Probably not going to happen because for Tidus they'd have to hire James Arnold Taylor.
