?Perfect? ~1 x 1 RP W/ Rosie~

When Namine said his name, the nurse at Demyx's side grabbed at his elbow, as though she expected him to hulk-smash his way across the room and jump on the fragile blonde at his first chance. Instead, he stumbled a few slow steps forwards, throwing the nurse a glare- her nails were pressing into his arm, for starters, and he didn't want her literally shadowing him the whole time he was in there.

Guess she thinks it could have been me, he thought to himself, repressing the bubble of anger that swelled up his his chest at even the notion that she could be believing stuff like that about him. After all, did he seem abusive?! He hoped not. Sure, he'd been getting pretty agitated in the waiting room, but anyone would be worried and jittery after bringing Namine there, right? Still, he made sure to move slowly towards her, twisting his slim fingers around each other, knotting them together when he reached her bedside.

"Hey, Nami," he said, the waver thankfully staying out of his voice. He couldn't help it; she did look terrible, and she sounded it too. It twisted at his gut like a huge invisible hand, seeming to threaten to tear it out, but he did his best to ignore it, doing his best to sound... not nonchalant like he usually did, just concerned. "How you holdin' up?"

"You realise how firetrucking much that car was to me, huh?" Axel snarled, glaring venemously up at the blond still on top of him. He had a reputation for snapping, he knew that, but this anger wasn't real; not as all-emcompassing as his rages from before had been, at least.

"No. You firetrucking don't, you shitty little brat, so shut your mouth, alright?! I can do what I please to your stupid brother, and- what was his boyfriend's name, again?" He cocked his head, green eyes narrowed, not smirking for once- just intense. He wanted to catch Roxas out, to see every little lapse of control.

((That's quite the colorful language you have their Axel xD))

Namine gave the gentlest of smiles to the apprehensive blond, her baby blues scanning his appearance. His hair was drooping slightly, the extra-hold hair gel finally loosing it's luster. She could see the lines of worry that had creased onto his face--she hoped they weren't permanent. Denys wasn't meant to be worried, especially not about her. She was a nobody after all (no pun intended). His aqua eyes, though not as bright, still withheld that glimmer she liked so much even after meeting him a grand total of two times. Overall, he looked like he had been stressing but it was nothing a good nights sleep couldn't fix. Clearing her throat, Namine was pleased to find her voice not as rough.

"I'm alright I guess. A-A little sore but it....it would be a lot worse had you not helped me. So thank you Demyx." The blond admitted shyly, her tone gentle and soft like a mother's whisper caressing an infants ears. She couldn't express how grateful she was. The only regret she had was her stepfather's reaction to what had happened. He might just pull an experiment on her. She glanced back down at the needle, feeling her insides mash up and churn. "D-Do they have to keep that thing in?"

Roxas struggled to keep his temper under control. He was very well known for having a short one, especially when someone in his family and those close to him were being threatened by the likes of Axel. Truth is though, underneath the blond's increasing anger and frustration, he was afraid of what exactly the red-head would do to his little, twin brother. He didn't want to see him hurt in any way.

"Like hell you can. I'm not firetrucking around Axel. Leave Sora alone. Or I'll hit you with something much harder than the destruction of your car." Roxas snarled, his sky blue eyes darkening quite magnificently to a deep sapphire shade.

"No problem."

The tense set to his shoulders fell, and Demyx's posture slumped a little- partly because it was relaxed normally, but also because of the relief; it came so strongly, it almost caught him by surprise. And, although it was weak, he managed a smile, leaning down at her bedside when he was as close enough to support himself. For a moment, his gaze lingered on the needle, too, following hers, but then he shrugged, a quick, easy tilt to his shoulders.

"'Fraid so. It's probably doing some good, Nami. Not that I'm a doctor, obviously, but... I think it's there for a reason, right?"

Wrinkling his nose slightly, he sighed, and then looked up, meeting her gaze.

"You don't have to worry, you know. I'm not letting them send you back... back there. I-I know it's, like, a total pain, but you can't go back to him."

Axel just grinned, green eyes sparking. "Don't be such a tightass, kid. Stop ruining my fun- besides, s'not like I can injure him anymore than I could beat the firetruck outta you, is it?"

He kicked upwards, hard- with both feet at once, and shoved with all his might, so that he finally managed to get Roxas off of him- but the redhead didn't try and get on top of him, just kneeled where he managed to get himself up, a few rough breaths struggling in his chest before he started to stand up properly.

"Besides, you've nearly wasted the entire period, and- sucks for you- I have Math and I will not miss those huge jugs, not even for you, Blondie."

Namine's movements froze suddenly for a quick moment, a shallow breath inaudibly hitching within her throat. Him. How could Demyx possibly knew it had to do with him; Vexen. Sure she had mistakenly given away it was an issue at home but in this state the blond could not recall giving away any information inducing that her stepfather was the one harming her. She hadn't even mentioned her sweet mother's death. Not that she could remember at the moment anyway...

"I-I...what do you mean?" She asked carefully, trying to seem as confused as she could but Namine was sure it probably came out as helpless. After all, she was horrid at lying when in situations such as this. If this were about forgotten homework or something she'd be able to handle it but this...she couldn't lie about so casually to anyone. Especially not Demyx. Not when he was giving her such a gentle look. It dawned upon her. Was he being...protective? The thought of it, just the mere possibility brought tears to her blue eyes, making them a much more brilliant shade than before.

"D-Dem', it's alright you know. You don't have to worry--I promise, I-I'll be okay."

Roxas fell back with a dismissive thud when landing sharply on his rear but it was when he cracked his head against the hard tile floor, after Axel's magnificent kick off like he was the Karate Kid or something, did he give out a low moan of pain. He let his head linger a little bit longer than he should've on the school's floor, using the time to process what Axel had just said. The period was almost over...huge jugs? Oh, he had Miss Aqua. The sicko.

Taking a shaky inhalation of breath and a rather high-pitched gasp (that Roxas was embarrassed to have let escape) he hoisted himself up to a sitting position. The quick motion nearly made him pass out with nausea, eyes threatening to roll back into the sockets of his skull. He must have hit his hard much harder than he had thought. Which would really explain the audacity Roxas was having (although he hadn't hit his head beforehand so obviously that couldn't be a liable excuse).

"Y-You're talking about Miss Aqua? Please, she wouldn't even consider letting a dirtbag like he touching her in any way." Roxas leered, leaning against the lockers pathetically to take a few steady breaths and regain his balance, fingers digging into the metal if the thin rectangular surface. "Ngh...you bastard that firetrucking hurt you know?! And my name isn't Blondie. It's Roxas. Rox-as."

((I... can't even fathom how long I've been gone. I'm sorry. I just had a lot of stuff to sort out, and I really haven't been near the internet in the past two months, certainly not long enough to form a reply. ;A; I'm pretty sure I'm better now, at least, I feel it, so I shouldn't be taking any lengthy breaks again anytime soon, but I'm really sorry I left this hanging. DDX And I can't get the colours to work, for some reason.))

Oh god, she was going to cry. Demyx didn't quite know if he could manage to deal with that, not in a strange environment, as it was. He could still sense the nurse's gaze lingering warily on his back, and tried to push the discomfort aside despite the prickling at the back of his neck. Maybe he shouldn't have slipped up- he gathered that she hadn't been told much, since she hadn't given any indication of knowing what to expect with him in the first place. And, if the goddamned idiots hadn't even told her who he was, he very much doubted they'd have admitted to giving him just a little of her backstory, as far as they knew. He hadn't even considered it at first, had just taken the fact she only lived with her father in his stride, along with the other tiny shreds of fact- she didn't have siblings, her grades were okay, she'd tried to kill herself. Weighing it all up, though, after she'd told him the problems stemmed from home... it hadn't taken that long to hit him.

See, they treated him like he was stupid. Even Nami probably hadn't anticipated him working it out, judging by the look on her face- he tried to remind himself that she most likely hadn't known they'd told him anything, but, he had to admit, it still stung a little. A childish kind of smarting, immature hurt, that he quickly swallowed, and, barely listening to Namine's insisting she was fine, reached across towards her hand.

He didn't take it properly, just softly placing his hand on top of hers. Like a lot of the physical things about her, it was small- although he hardly had huge hands himself, his fingers were pretty long, which was definitely helpful when it came to playing music.

"Of course I'm going to worry. And, honestly? You don't look so okay, and it's not gonna get better without somebody pushing it to. You..."

With a groan, he ran his free hand through his hair, meeting her eye properly again once he'd found the damn bottle to finish what he was saying.

"You can't let it carry on, you can't go back there. Please."

Finally getting to his feet properly, Axel started to walk off down the hall, passing Roxas by. The swagger to his step was marred, though, since it felt like he'd pulled something in his left leg kicking the brat off, and had to try not to limp. Giving a lopsided grin, he didn't allow himself to appear angry at the punk daring to call him a dirtbag- after all, it was nothing compared to what he could do when he put his mind to it, he was sure of that.

"Better me than a snotnosed shortass like YOU," he sneered. "And, aw, shit, did I hurt you? Baby!"

Just scoffing at Roxas trying to hiss his actual name for a moment, he didn't slow down in his somewhat stilted stroll down the hallway. "Roxas? Bet you think that sounds firetrucking tough, huh? Whatever, I'll commit it to memory if it's so damn important, kid."

((Hey don't worry about it love~ I'm glad you got everything sorted out - I was getting a bit worried there. I knew you'd come back eventually, even if he had suddenly disappeared from the site. I'm very happy that you actually remembered me and our RP and that you're feeling better :3))

Naming was about to decline his depresses plea once again before she happened to glance up to meet Demyx's eyes. And that was when her courage, words, anything she had to resist crumbled down. The blond child a thing when it came to looking into people's eyes, after all, they are said to be the windows to the soul. They show every hidden emotion bestowed inside a human being the one may be feeling. For example, Namine always noticed, when her mother looked at her, that she was always holding a warm sadness. Like she was happy to see innocent Namine so bright and full of glee before she was abused and sadness because maybe she knew...She knew she was going to die. In Vexen's eyes she sees cruelty - an untamed fire of rage and lust for power that could not be slated. And right now, within Demyx's soul, she saw heartbreak and frustration.

Perhaps he was angered at her for not telling her sooner what was wrong, or maybe at the school board for letting such a things get out of hand. But how could they know anything about her? She was just that little miss Nobody who tried to kill herself in that deserted bathroom. And the frustration and heartbreak...must be for himself. For having to deal with such a troublesome, problematic girl. Namine was used to seeing a happy, worn-down, laid-back look. Not such a deep and thoughful concern. She didn't like seeing such things on his face. It was ugly, unfitting.

"I...I won't go back home yet. I'll wait till I fully recover. I still have to go Demyx, I have no where else to stay and I don't want to be a burden anyway." She stated calmly, her voice quiet and barely rebounding off the walls of her room, the heart monitor next to her almost swallowing up the sound as it beeped consistently.

Roxas stumbled as he tried walking away from the lockers, deciding to ignore the little wiggle Axel's lanky leg gave when he first tried to walk and stand strong and tall. This red-head had such nerve that it really rubbed him the wrong way. The teenage male was like a snake - you could bite him as much as you want but he could iffy back ten times as more red-hot poison. But oddly, the irritation, the anger, only made him want the red head to try and fight even more. If he wasn't masochistic he didn't know what he was.

"Tough? It's my name dip-shit," He stated, looking at the clock and seeing ten minutes remaining of first period as he "accidentally" kicked Axel's shin on what he assume to be the weaker of the two legs at the moment. "It's not like I changed it to sound cool or anything."

(( Thank you. <33 ))

"No, you don't have to go." Demyx shook his head, leaning his chin on the hand not on top of Namine's. Even though he usually tended to babble and gush when he had some kind of idea, letting his words run over each other, he tried to keep his voice at an even pace, more measured- it wasn't like with his friends, where most of the time he played up being silly because they found it amusing, or even with talking to Axel in the worst of his moods-- then, it was better for him NOT to sound too careful. But here, he just didn't want to step too far, too fast- and rushing along with every thought that came into his head would be a really dumb way to go about things. Instead, he opted for taking it gently, which seemed a better way, at least.

"I mean, if you need somewhere to stay, there's... room in my house, my mom wouldn't mind. And, um, if that's, like, totally weird, then I could always ask around- I know Kairi's been kinda worried about you, seemed like she kept texting people about it, and, well, she doesn't just go on about anything. It's usually all about her, if you get that I mean. I mean, it'd at least be worth a try, right? Stop you... gettin' hurt again..."

He smiled. "And, hey, you totally aren't a burden. Lighten up."

Something somewhat between a shriek and a snarl tore from Axel's lips, which he quickly attempted to turn into a curse word- he fell to one knee, the leg he'd hurt trembling under his weight, and he punched at the floor. His knuckles made an ugly crunching noise, but he ignored it, dragging himself to his feet again, almost as if he could take back the fall, the moment of weakness.

"You really gotta stop pushing me. Or do you WANT me to f*ck up your stupid brother, huh?" he hissed through gritted teeth.

"...And, by the way, I wouldn't put a douchey thing like that past you, Blondie," the redhead added, deliberately dragging out the nickname, using it on purpose, obviously, knowing it would most likely rile the blond.

Namine's blue eyes widened a bit at that and she nearly cried. It wasn't because of how much she felt like a bother. She didn't think it was because of how troublesome she was. Or how it wouldn't make a difference if she was hurt again or not. She was brought to tears because it was truly the first time someone had offered something so kind since her mother's death. Would that really be okay? She couldn't inconvenience Kairi, the poor girl already had to witness her practically bathing in her own blood. And...she would feel more comfortable with Demyx.

She knew him better after all. She knew his smile, his habits - if only a little bit, and his attitude. If his mother was anything like that, it would be of great convenience. But still, what about Vexen's..?

Clearing her throat, Namine gave Demyx a very careful, searching look.

"I-If...If I was to to stay with you...how would we get around my...guardians at home."

Roxas sneered, crossing his arms and leaning down to Axel's level, brushing his nose against the other's. It was then he noticed for another countless time how vivid the red-head's green eyes were, even when he was furious. As he pondered what emotions were conflicting inside of him his sneer dropped to a frown and he looked at him with half-open eyes.

"Douche is a very harsh word. And I warned you. Do what you want to me but not to Sora."

((My reply is so fail *facepalm*))

She seemed surprised, not, he hoped, in a bad way; he supposed it was kind of out of the blue, but it was the only solution he could think of. Maybe getting the police involved would be the most logical thing to do, sure, but he honestly knew in his gut taking that route wouldn't be the best thing for the fragile blonde girl in front of him- she was barely being held together as it was, he didn't want to cause her any more trauma or stress. He probably wouldn't have even brought her here if he hadn't panicked himself into thinking she was going to die. All Demyx could really do was hope his intuition was right on this one.

When Namine brought up Vexen, however, doubt flitted across his face for a moment, quickly replaced with a somewhat hesitant smile.

"Heyyy, I'm gonna sort everything out, I promise. No worries. Besides, guy does something like this..." he scratched at the back of his head, thoughtfully, before leaning on his hand again. "Well, he can't really kick up too much of a fuss."

He was trying to skirt around a clear answer, and he hoped she was too drained and exhausted to notice properly- after all, he didn't want her freaking out or worrying over HIM of all people. It was meant to be the other way around, and as far as he was concerned, it was his duty to be trying to keep her safe and take away her demons. If that meant talking her psycho old man into letting her leave, so be it.

Axel snorted, clearly aggravated by the younger teen blatantly invading his personal space (although that was a complete and utter double standard, as he'd done the same to Roxas and countless others before..) but trying to hold it back as much as he could, to maintain some illusion of self-control.

"Like hell do I care if you think it's a hard word, short stuff. And screw that, I do whatever the hell I want. If it's an invitation, though..."

Trailing off, voice positively laden with sarcasm for the last statement, he just gave a sly grin.

(( As is mine. <3 xDD ))

((Nu-Uh! By the way, I may poof after this or the next post since I'll be going out with my dad to the movies~))

Namine looked at him hesitantly. Demyx seemed like he could handle this. But how? Could she really trust everything to be okay? Could he trust him? Biting her lip, she reached over to gently brush her fingertips against the back of his hand.

"I...I'll stay with you. But I can't...I can't tell you anything just yet." She whispered, hoping he would understand. It wasn't because she didn't want to (well that was part of it). She was scared. Of a lot of things. Getting attached and losing Demyx. Or her stepfather lashing out at the blond teen. Or Vexen killing her before she had the chance to live just as she was back to something that mattered just a teensy bit.

"Promise me you will be careful?"

Roxas' demeanor didn't waver as he remained where he was, his flicking with interest as he dig deeper into what emotions Axel was portraying.

"You could take it that way," He tilted his head just slightly (in which the angle could be mistaken for one that, if either of them leaned forward, could be something a kiss be brought from). "Axel. Who made you so messed up?" The blond asked bravely in all seriousness.
