Rosie 3 Posted April 6, 2011 ((I kind of have the internet back, but it's... flickery, to say the least. And my brother's away, so I get his laptop for tonight, at least.)) Fine? Demyx's ass she was fine. Okay, so he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but he wasn't stupid- not when it came to reading people, at least. Knowing that something was wrong. He'd always been able to tell, even though, as a kid, people obviously just assumed that he couldn't understand, took him for oblivious. Took him for an idiot. And, well, fine. He was okay with that, and it didn't bother him- it made it easier for him to just observe most of the time, take people in. Get them. And, okay, he hadn't quite sorted out in his head the situation with Namine just yet, but he knew enough. Crossing the room in a few strides (practically surprising himself, since he never moved quickly of his own volition), he crouched down to her eye level- which wasn't too much of a pain, since she was only seated and wasn't, like, sprawled on the floor. "...That's funny," he said, though it wasn't funny at all. His voice was softer than usual now, though, so at least the reply didn't sound harsh. "'Cause you sure as hell don't look like it's just a stomach ache." Sighing, the blond narrowed his eyes for a moment. Scrutinising. "...Did... someone hurt you?" "I'm not afraid of you." The redheaded Senior stopped short, the sole of one boot emitting a piercing squeak as it scraped against the linoleum. His shoulders tensed, his whole posture tight, he kept his back to the... the damn punk, just about resisting the urge to whirl around and slam his face into the lockers a couple hundred times. Just for good measure. Instead, he clenched his fists, digging his nails into his palms, hard- enough for it to hurt. "Then you firetrucking will be." Axel spat, allowing himself just to look over his shoulder, casting the strongest glare he could muster at the younger boy.
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 6, 2011 Namine's eyes widened slightly, several thoughts spinning throughout her mind. Should she tell him? Well that was one of the first, most obvious, out of all the questions that came to her. The next was: what would he do if he knew? Or even; what would he do later if He found out she was lying? Even though the answers all pointed that she should share her injury with Demyx, the blond bit her lip, inching backwards slightly, arms still tight around her stomach. Namine didn't bother to lift her head to meet Demyx's gaze either--he'd see how she was struggling not to pass out. "N-No, I swear. I'm fine, r-really. I usually get stomach aches like this a-all the time." Namine stuttered out, lying through her teeth. Roxas returned the glare, taking a few steady steps towards Axel, the defiance in his icy blue eyes shining a bit brighter. The delicate blond knew he shouldn't be testing Axel, since he knew he'd probably get hurt in the long run but still. He couldn't help it. The rush of danger an possible adrenaline was entertaining to him. Call him masochistic or whatever you wanted but if the blood pounding in his head wasn't anything to go by he didn't know what was. "Why? You going to strip me nude again? Shove me in a locker? How frightening." Roxas sneered, knowing full well that the latter would be quite scary. Probably to the point of him passing out. He knew from experience.
Rosie 3 Posted April 6, 2011 Demyx didn't miss how she shied away from him- he tried for a moment to surpress a hurt look, and felt like kicking himself. It was obvious something was seriously wrong, and here he was trying not to get pouty over her just not being particularly open with him today. Still, he threw that stupid childish thought right out the window, and instead dropped his gaze for a moment himself, biting at one side of his lip as he tried to think of what to say, to do, to make her admit she was lying, that she wasn't okay, that she... Instead of trying to talk through things, for once, Demyx kept his mouth shut, and just gently reached out, worn fingertips brushing her arm, still wrapped around her waist. Uncertain for a moment, he didn't really move- until he shifted forwards just a little, letting his fingers catch her wrist. His grip was light enough, barely touching her- but, at least, it was something. After a long moment, he spoke, keeping his voice low, nearly a mumble. "...I think we both know that isn't true." Turning most of the way around, Axel didn't even notice that he'd taken a step back- just for a second, he glanced down at his own feet, half angry just at himself for allowing such a slip up, a dumb move... Deliberately stomping hard, he took a few steps back towards the blond to compensate. He would have shoved his balled fists into his pockets if he could, but Axel's jeans didn't really allow for hands in ockets, let alone fists- they barely allowed for Axel, which was saying something since he was practically a rake. "Quite the contrary, firetrucker." And how that statement would have sounded insightful, were it not for the crude insult tacked on the end; then again, Axel assumed sounding insightful equalled sounding like a pansy, and that was definitely not his style. "That just wouldn't be enough fun- as fun as it was stripping you." The redhead couldn't help but smirk as he finished, the scene replaying in his head- and that helped. Helped him stay calm. Helped him think of just how to hurt this damn Sophomore who thought he was all that.
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 6, 2011 Namine averted her gaze quickly to the side, arm trembling as goosebumps rose on her skin from the gentle yet persuading touch he held on her wrists. Demyx's sincerity in his voice made her want to melt into a puddle of disappointment, her conscious killing her. He cared...so much about her and yet she could only give him worry in return. Why would he bother in the first place? It just blew Namine's mind. No one had ever bothered with her since last year had come and gone leading to this year. She was ignored by all classmates, obviously abused and tormented by Marluxia and Seipher. And to top it all of, the reason she was pale and shaking violently in her seat, her stepdad beat her on a regular basis. And to have someone like Demyx suddenly come into her life was puzzling. Namine looked up at Demyx with a broken look, eyes watery, as she carefully removed her arm in which he had a grip on away from her waist, revealing her bleeding injury. She cringed, breath hitching several times. It had gotten much worse--the bleed seeping through the white material to the point of where you could wring the red liquid out of her shirt like a dish rag. "I-I just...it's really n-not that bad D-Demyx." She admitted with yet another lie, her head feeling very light yet heavy and woozy. Roxas took another step, almost hesitantly, so that he was near to Axel's frame--separating them with only a foot of space. His cheeks were flaming at the comment just made. It was embarrassing to have someone say it was "fun to strip him". I might just be the most awkwar thing he had ever been told. "Then do tell what lame excuse for a come back do you have to get back at me with. I know your record--you wouldn't donanything serious to me before you back to 'you-know-where'. What's the worst you can do?" Rosas questioned tauntingly, leaning closer to Axel, trying to ignore the overwhelming yet pleasant smell of cinnamon and smoke that radiated from the red haired deliquiant. "You won't do a thing to me, you're all talk, Ax~el." Roxas inquired, breaking his name up in a way that you would when indicating you words to a child. Rosie 3 Posted April 7, 2011 What color had been in Demyx's face drained away the moment he saw the blood- he went white to the roots of his dirty blond hair, his eyes looking unnaturally green and somewhat out of place against the sudden pallor. He hissed something under his breath, presumably an expletive. That was one of the many silly quirks he had- Demyx usually refused to swear in public, in the presence of other people (this was pretty strange, considering he hung around with Axel of all Seniors) and, since old habits die hard, despite his shock he still dropped his voice in order to actually do it. With some effort, he kept his fingers from gripping any tighter, in the fear of hurting her more; he didn't want to do that, he wasn't a complete idiot. For what felt like a very long time, Demyx just didn't move. His breathing was very even, overly controlled in its rhythm- and he wasn't looking up at her anymore, fixated on the injury. Then, eventually, as it had to, that stillness broke as he, adjusting his now awkward position to a comfier one, on his knees, leant forwards and hugged the fragile girl against him. "Nurse. We'll get you-" his voice cracked, and he paused, swallowing hard. "Get you to the nurse." There was a flush to the blond's cheeks that filled Axel with a smug sort of satisfaction- well, until the brat actually started speaking again. Ugh, for some reason, that damn tone, the look on the kid's face... They were seriously grating with him. Grinding hard on his nerves, pushing and pushing and- God damn it. No. He wasn't going to rise to the bait, he knew if he did it would all be over too soon... "I can do what I damn well please. Some- some bleached firetrucking bimbo like you isn't gonna get me screwed over, ya know? And I know how to get around any of the shitty restrictions people try and shove on me- I've been at this game f'r years."
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 7, 2011 Namine's baby blue eyes widened as Demyx pulled her forward into a hug and she stiffened, feeling slightly uncomfortable with the embrace. It wasn't a false hug like the ones Xigbar used to force on her to make her think she wasn't really about to be seriously hurt (like last night). It was caring and that's what unnerved her. That someone was actually being considerate. A chill crept down her spine, making her shiver violently in Demyx's arms. She coughed slightly and was disgusted-to say the least-with the metallic taste of copper in her mouth. She had coughed up blood. How could this get any worse? Demyx's suggestion, that's how. Go to the Nurse? Was he crazy?! She'd call home and Vexen...oh god Vexeb would make it even worse. She shoved her frail hands feebly at Demyx's torso, blinking away her tears of fear. She couldn't do this-she couldn't let the situation get any worse! "N-No! Dem', that'll just m-make things worse. H-He'll...H-He'll..." She lost the strength to talk as her head grew heavy, te ret of her limbs feeling like lead. She figured it had to do with the large amount of bloodloss she had. "Please...don't..." Roxas scoffed, taking another step and crossing his arms throwing on his most haughty look. Was Axel really going to silence him with that? He thought the red head was better then such a pitiful response given the large word selection he had (or claimed to have anyway). Roxas flipped the blond hair out of his bright, blue eyes glistening with challenge. He wasn't going to let that be the end of this. "If by playing you mean losing then yes-you've been playing that game for a long time. Face it, you know you'd get caught," Roxas moved as close as he dared, Axel's breath tickling his forehead as he looked upward to meet his green eyes. "You always do~"
Rosie 3 Posted April 7, 2011 When she tried to push him away, Demyx didn't put up any kind of resistance- he just ducked back, half dropping his arms from around her. He still didn't let go, however, not totally. Instead of freaking out like he wanted to, like the little voice in the back of his head was screaming at him to, he just willed himself to stay calm- he couldn't mask the panic, the fear in his eyes, plastered across his face, though. At a loss, he fought desperately in his head for an answer, for the magic words that could solve Namine's every worry... They didn't come. The words never just came to him, not when he was freaked inside. Not when he couldn't think because she was bleeding at it was serious and...! And he couldn't just let her bleed like this. "F-fine. Not the school nurse- um- h-hospital! If I... if I call him, I'm... totally sure Cloud- I mean, um, Mr Strife-'ll drive us-!" She might have said no, but no way was he just gonna give up. "I," snapped Axel in response, "never lose. And I- firetruck- I don't care if I get caught! I don't give a single damn!" His breathing was hitched now, ragged again- his fisted hands were trembling. He succeeded in not moving, at the very least- ha, as though someone like him would step back from a confrontation. With an irritable flick of his head to dispel the red spikes off the sides of his face, where they were brushing annoyingly against the pale skin of his cheeks in just the way to tick him off. "And you don't know a thing about me, so shut the hell up." He hissed.
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 7, 2011 Namine faltered, not to keen on that idea either. That meant forms to be filled out and questions to be answered on how she wound was given to her. But she nearly collapsed out of the chair and into Demyx, as she nearly lost consciousness for that matter, she decided it was her only option. After meeting Demyx she wasn't hyped on dying...as much as before anyway. The thoughts of suicide still lingered in her mind though...just not as frequently. "O-Okay." She murmured, her voice unable to hold much volume as she found herself clinging to Demyx in desperation. She didn't want to go this way. Not by bleeding to death because of cruelty via her stepfather and his perverse friends. Her blue eyes fluttered momentarily shut and she near damned panicked because for a second, she couldn't re-open them. He wouldn't be shutting her eyes for a while. Roxas internally smirked. Oh how Axel was getting riled up. He enjoyed this. He wanted to see the red head snap and tell him that he wasn't scared of him, that he'd take him on and win. He'd have thought the damage done to his car would have been example enough. It was fret though just to see how Axel's stubbornness refused to let him back down. The tool that he was.... "And you know nothing about me, so we're square." Roxas said evenly, a hiss of bitterness seeping through his words. He glared Axel in the eye (though kept a wear look onto his curled fists) and softened his voice, maybe mockingly, maybe not. It was impossible for even him to determine. "If you're not afraid Axel--ten why haven't you done anything yet? I think I was right in calling you a coward at our first encounter the other day. You're afraid, aren't you?" Rosie 3 Posted April 8, 2011 Saying he'd get Cloud to help was one thing- actually putting those thoughts into action was entirely another. Demyx was more than a little freaked, and he knew for certain he couldn't leave Namine alone there, not in that state. He was half terrified if he so much as let go of her, she'd fall apart- let alone abandoning her for minutes at a time. He fumbled in his pockets, cursing softly under his breath as he scrabbled through coins and lint; he was regretting wearing pants with deep pockets. Still, he plucked his phone out of one after some searching, one arm still supporting Namine. He struggled hopelessly, keying in the number with one thumb, and lifting the phone to his ear. The conversation was short- Cloud wasn't a man of many words, and didn't even seem particularly concerned as to the details- and he moved suprisingly fast, still on the line when he arrived. Thankfully, he owed Demyx quite a lot (not that either of them mentioned it) and didn't even object to pratically running a taxi service for the Senior. "You're lucky it was only a Freshman class," he grumbled. "Get going before I change my mind." Fighting a smile, Demyx turned his attention back to the blonde girl in his arms, asking, voice gentle; "Nami? You okay to stand?" There was a glint of barely surpressed glee in the kid's eyes, which only pissed Axel off more. He struggled for a retort, making a low, frustrated grunt in the back of his throat. He couldn't believe- that this little punk-! He wasn't used to being challenged, and he damn well didn't like it- it was like being a dog on a chain, being baited and yet knowing you couldnt just beat the hell out of your provoker. But he couldn't, no matter what the little bastard said. It was what he wanted, Axel could see that clear as day. And he was damned if he was falling for it, even though his vision was blurring a furious red and his head was pounding like crazy. "I'm not afraid of anyone- 'specially a firetrucking little runt like you."
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 8, 2011 Namine looked lightly up at Demyx, her vision fading with every passingg momnet. The edges were blurred black and she could just barely make out the outline of Demyx's face. No, she thought, clearly she could not
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 8, 2011 Namine, while usually worried about burdening anyone, shook her head, holding on to Demyx's shirt with a less than feeble grip that she felt would slip away at any minute. Her vision was blurring at the edges, turning dark along the rims so that she could just barely recognize her surroundings. It all looked grated out and fuzzy as seconds passed--like being underwater. She could only manage to shake her head and a weak "no" that was barely louder than a whisper. She knew the numbness in her legs wasn't a good thing, nor the heaviness of her head. It felt as though someone had filled it with lead. Because of this, her thoughts scurried around in a cluttered manner, every little thing coming to mind. She didn't know exactly why either but Namine had a hunch it was her regrets before death or something like that. Funny, one of the first things to loiter into her mind to was Demyx's sitar. Namine never had much interest for music so to think of this was...bewildering to say the least. But she had one regret that kept coming up and oddly, she had never thought of the request before (even if she had only known him for two days). "D-Demyx? Can I ask you a f-favor?" She questioned, barely awake. Roxas could see it. He could tell by the muscle twitching on Axel's forehead and the way the red-head kept blinking his eyes that he was so close to making him snap. He was pushing his limits so much and it felt invigorating to be so close to danger-so close to death almost (it was Axel after all) and he loved it. As a mental note to himself Roxas figured that he might want to see somebody about this, being an adrenaline junkie for dangerous Seniors couldn't be good for him. Then again, neither was blasting his MSI, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach in his SkullCandy headphones until his ears temporarily popped. "Then why bother holding back? You're not fooling anybody Axel. You're just snotty teenager with another Inferiority Complex that's been growing for to long. Or maybe you were like Sora and were dropped on the head 10 to many times..." Roxas said, drawling out the first part then musing to himself about his brother. It made him realize though, that Axel had been right. He didn't know anything about the red-head. He held back a smirk. He had a new mission. "Which makes me think--you must have had a pretty bad childhood to have ended up like this." Roxas stated, nonchalantly, not daring to back down from his confrontation with Axel.
Rosie 3 Posted April 14, 2011 "...Um." Sea green eyes flickering worriedly across the blonde's pale face, Demyx took a moment to tear himself from trying to think of a way to get her out of there that didn't involve carrying her (for starters, he wasn't sure he could lift someone, even someone as light as Namine). And then he bit his lip, unable to help his gaze trailing downwards, to the blood, as he answered. "..Sure. What is it?" Damn it, he was trying to stay calm, so he wouldn't scare her even more (and also, partly so that Cloud wouldn't think he was even more of an idiot- his not being a conventional teacher only made Demyx want his recognition and respect more...) but even as he fought to control it, to keep it level, there was a shaky undertone in his voice. And that just about did it. Axel practically exploded forwards, slamming hard into Roxas, with the express purpose of knocking them both to the floor- although he was slighter, even more so than the blond, he still had height, and what he hoped was strength and experience on his side. Still, the momentum was a little too much, and he had to roll over on top of the Sophomore, rearing his right arm back without even having to consciously consider the action. His hands were already fisted, which only meant less time before he punched Roxas with all his might, right across the face. "Shut the firetruck up, you- you- firetrucker!" ...So his insult was less than eloquent. It wasn't as though Axel gave a damn.
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 14, 2011 ((I'm hating this new site design. I can't chat anymore from my phone and I can't change my font color D< Edit: Wait I fixed the color problem )) Naming gave a smile, unsure if she was being delirious or not. Her vision had now completely faded to a blurry gray with barely visible sparks of color. She was sure that by now she had lost a considerate amount of blood. And it was all because she hadn't gone to seek help sooner. She was aware at this point that she had been incredibly stupid in her decision, irrational at best. How could she not foresee thus happening? Its not as though a cut wouldn't stop bleeding if she did nothing. God I'm an idiot...such a shame... "D-Dem'," She started, voice a small whisper. "After....after this is over...m-maybe you could sing to me. Yeah...." The blond was mostly talking to herself as her head fell to face her side, leaning against her small shoulders. "I'd like that..." Well at least Roxas could say he took that punch like a champ. He would admit that it stung quite a bit--not to mention the impact from being tackled and having his head crack against the floor wasn't pleasant either. He disliked that bit a lot actually. Yet he managed to sustain a smirk as Axel glared at him with all the hate and power in the world burning in his eyes. If Roxas didn't know any better he'd say Axel was ready to commit manslaughter. And he had all the time to do so being they were only half-way through 1st period. Damn. "Ah? I-I struck a nerve. So it is the family isn't it?" He moaned softly, his head beginning to throb from how tender the back of his skull had been. Now he probably had a mild concussion. He was to blame after all, pushing Axel like that. However, Roxas would be lying if he said he wasn't a wee bit curious on why Axel's family/childhood was such a, to put it bluntly, touchy subject.
Rosie 3 Posted April 14, 2011 (For some bizarre reason, it stretches out all the posts bar the first three for me. And my rep's gone. Maybe it'll catch up later, like my post count did. [/shot]) Demyx gave a distracted nod, more preoccupied with thinking of how to get the hell out of there. He mumbled a "sure" under his breath, and then, with a half-shy glance at Cloud, hooked an arm around Namine's waist, trying to suport her weight enough to lift her safely; he managed to get that hand under her knees, which, coupled with the fact he still had an arm around her would hopefully mean he at least wouldn't drop her. He shifted his own balance for a moment, almost testing his legs (after the running, no matter how little, he wasn't certain he'd be able to get up so easily). Sure, his standing was a little shaky, and he was probably holding Nami too tight, but at least it was something. At least it might get her to help. "Sure you can manage?" He might have expected sarcasm from Cloud, but apparently with Namine injured that was amiss; the blond teacher, although leaning against the doorway, had almost dropped his careful apathy- a miracle in itself, for him to actually show much emotion. "I got this." Throwing him a nod, Demyx moved properly, walking forwards- although his pace was slower than it would have been without her, Namine wasn't actually all that heavy- something that bothered him a little. Okay, that was a serious understatement- it bothered him a lot. Feeling a little surer about his chances of getting her to the car, Demyx let himself concentrate on Nami again. Maybe, if he kept talking, he could keep her awake- or, at least, he hoped that. "You sure you wanna hurt your eardrums, too? 'Cause I am a terrible singer," he tried to joke, even though the grin on his face was uncertain, nearly bashful. To put it simply, Axel didn't speak- more of yelled, a harsh, raw sound that wasn't even an attempt at a coherent word. And he brought his hand back- only to smash it back against Roxas' jaw, another punch much like the first. Detatchedly, he thought he might have enjoyed this, this pointless, fruitless violence- but he was really too angry to care. He couldn't help it- it was like there was this screaming in his head, white noise that screeched on and on and on until somehow his anger satisfied itself- usually through breaking something. And he damn well hoped that something was going to be Roxas' face, even though the small, rational part of him, that was returning the more he hurt, the more pain he inflicted- that was ever so quietly considering the possibility that this wasn't the way to go about dealing with this kid. Sure, bashing his face in would make Axel feel better in the short run- but then he'd only be suspended, if not kicked out for good, when it got around he'd actually caused more than bruises for once. Drawing his arm back, preparing for another punch, he paused, chest still lurching in a pointless effort to control his breathing. "Do not bring my firetrucking family into this. Just 'cause yours is perfect-" The redhead paused, mid rant, almost as though something had occured to him- but, then again, he might have just been so angry he ran out of words. zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 14, 2011 ((Lol, same here! It's just acting up. Maybe they'll work out the glitches though? Oh, I was listening to this song and for some reason I kind of thought of Axel and Roxas in our RP. The song is Find A Way by SafetySuit ^^)) Namine gave a weak sound in the back of her throat that sounded something like a "yes" as she and Demyx finally got moving with Cloud (apparently a teacher Demyx knew). The blond's thought process was slowed as she tried desperately to keep herself awake and jumble through the meaning of the words Demyx had just said. Something about him not vein able to sing? She chuckled weakly. She could tell he was lying to an extent. His voice while talking normally practically screamed that he had some good pipes. Before Namine could point that out to a worrisome Demyx, a sharp pain followed by a spread of numbing spread through her, starting by her wound. A strangled gasp flew from her lips at that, and she felt herself clawing at the Senior's t-shirt. She hoped it wasn't an important one, like his favorite band t-shirt. Her nails might have torn through the fabric. Though that's wasn't to bad considering the pain she was putting up with. Vexen and Xigbar had really out done themselves this time... As Axel let the punches continue to pound into him he was getting second thoughts about taunting the red-head. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea. After all, he was receiving the beating of a life time all because of a simple comment. Roxas should have had sense, he should have used the intelligence that his parents had valued in him. At least, that's what he thought before Axel continued to speak and start to make a comment before stopping. Whether he was stopping because something had occurred to him or because Axel was to angry to speak he didn't know. What he did know was that he to was now irritated. No-scratch that. It was rising very quickly to something more like being furious. Roxas narrowed his blue eyes knowing it would make the sky blue hue change to and icy color spectacularly. Granted he had taken a jab at Axel but he wasn't assuming anything about his life. Butthe red-head, oh the red-head had found his nerve. With surprising force, Roxas shoved roughly against Axel, pushing him back and glaring as he pinned the Senior down with sheer strength that was short lived. "Don't you dare assume anything about me! Like I said, you know nothing about me and who I am."
Rosie 3 Posted April 14, 2011 (Ohmygod, Safetysuit! <333 [dies] But, yeah, it does work. Except obviously they are both WAY too stubborn to do anything but hate each other at the moment. xDDD) Demyx was somewhat, disturbingly, given the situation, proud that he kept moving, even as he felt Namine clawing desperately at his chest- if anything, he picked up the pace, until he was practically at Cloud's heels, even though the elder blond had been letting his lag behind before that. "Namine?!" he urged, voice nearly cracking on the "ne"- damn, his composure was totally failing out on him. Still, at least they were nearly outside- he had to be thankful that the math block to the school, where their sessions had been placed, was pretty close to an available exit. And, this way, they wouldn't pass by a bunch of classrooms' windows- being accused of kidnapping was the least of his worries right now, but he still didn't want to get on anyone's bad side- and landing them all in trouble would just be a wreck. Okay, sure, Namine was hardly going to be yelled at for anything, not in her current state, but it would definitely slow them down, and, well... she hadn't wanted the school to call home, right? And they'd definitely do that if she was injured and some random Senior was trying to sneak her out of school during the first period. Still, no one tended to wander these corridors- okay, fine, Axel did sometimes, Demyx presumed to get a glimpse of Miss Aqua's... erm, assets outside of his lesson time with her, but even the redhead was nowhere to be seen. And it wasn't like Demyx had the time or the amount of thought process to be concerned about his whereabouts right now. "Look, just... just hang on, okay?! W-we're getting you help, I promise," he half-babbled, words rushing together as he surged forwards, towards the exit. "Nghh-" The weak, surprised groan tore out of Axel before he could find a way to stop it- and, to his absolute shock, he found himself pinned against the floor, by... ugh, by a Sophomore, no less. He strained against the blond's grip on him, teeth gritted, and tossed his head scornfully for a moment- despite his usual style tending to keep it back, he'd been short on time that morning and it was starting to bother him. "I know you're a firetruck-rich brat who doesn't know when to quit- probably 'cause you get treated like a- a f-firetrucking prince, like you're anything special when you're not!" He snarled up at him, voice shaking- not with fear, no, he wasn't scared of Roxas, not even now when he didn't quite have the upper hand- but just with his ever-returning anger. zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 14, 2011 ((Lol, I love how they hate each other And Axel just crossed a very thin line with Roxas o_o)) Namine whimpered, shaking her head frantically. She was ashamed. Ashamed so much of her weak behavior. It could hardly be called for--even if she was injured. She wasn't supposed to be this weak. I mean, shallow breathing and slight pleading? Fine. But whimpering? That just...she didn't know why it bothered her Demyx could hear her whimper. Namine concluded it was because she was tired of being a burden to Demyx. "Ah.....o-okaaaaay..." She shivered, breath turning breathy as her voice dwindled. Her voice apparently couldn't withstand being in such pain and speaking at the same time. Roxas gripped Axel's wrists tighter, feeling his eyes heat up with a burning moisture behind his lids. He hate hearing that! He hated hearing people say he wasn't anything special and that he had everything in life because he wAs rich. Because it was true. He knew he was nothing to be proud of (which is why his parents constantly yelled at him) and he was well aware of how much he got in life. But that didn't mean...that didn't mean anything! Roxas felt his legs shaking just slightly in key with his shoulders as his temper began to rise. But he could muster the will power to actually hit Axel. "Y-You...that's not...You have no idea of what you're talking about. M-My life isn't...None of that is true!" Roxas shouted, lying through his teeth. Rosie 3 Posted April 14, 2011 When they finally reached the car, Demyx hovered impatiently as Cloud fumbled with the keys- it was kind of strange, alien, for Dem to see him make any kind of move clumsy like that. It was weird how, when you saw someone nearly every day, when you looked up to them, how much you noticed the little slips, the tiny weaknesses- the cracks in the face they put on for you. It was happening oddly fast with Namine, but he supposed... even if he didn't want to think that way, she was weak, vulnerable- maybe any old person could be standing in his place right now, if he hadn't been singled out for this peer-to-peer stuff. Maybe he was just some easily filled role- a person to walk into her life and show some empathy, want to help. So, yeah- he knew he probably had nothing to do with her opening up, however little she realised she was doing it; it was probably just her having someone. or, at least, he thought that. And he wasn't actually one for voicing his thoughts, not when they were insecurities like that- hell, he could talk for hours if he wanted to, but he was always careful that those tiny little personal things never slipped out. When Cloud finally got the damn car to unlock (it was surprisingly old and run down for someone so young- then again, it surprised Demyx that Cloud had a car at all, really. He'd pictured the guy as being much more of the motorbike type- although maybe the very fact he was supposed to be a tutor there meant he had to put up appearences), Dem practically threw himself on the backseat- but his arms, as good as cradling Nami, tried to stay gentle. Even before the older blond had gotten in, Demyx was hissing; "C'mon, c'mon...! Just... just drive! Like hell was following you!" And, to his mingling satisfaction and worry, Cloud did just that. "Really?" Axel cocked one red eyebrow, eyes still angry, but expression taking on something else- a smugness, a superiority, much more suited to when he wasn't so angry. To when he was winning. "Cause, well, I'll be damned, you don't sound so sure about it. What, gonna firetrucking run off and cry, get the mean Senior in trouble?" He was obviously mocking now, tone filled with a sick kind of glee- and, he found, to his own surprise as much as anyone else's, the angry part of him was actually letting up- clearing his head enough for him to enjoy this, just a little bit. It didn't fix anything, he knew that. It didn't make him feel any better, he wasn't that goddamn stupid. Sadism didn't benefit him in the long run, but damn, did it help his mood. "S'not like you can do anything else, brat, is it?"
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 14, 2011 Namine was well aware of the sudden acceleration of the care and the subconscious grip on her body as she lurched back slightly. She couldn't help but wonder through all this when did she start to care. When did she start to care about her well-being when only last week she had tried to end her life and almost succeeded? Why did she care now all of a sudden about living? More importantly, why did Demyx and his teacher Cloud care? She had been sure that, even though Demyx was her counselor, he wouldn't try to save her. No one would. Why were they being so kind in her time of dying? She gave a soft laugh, despite the pain. Of course she knew. It's because this was all a horrible prank wasn't it? They didn't actually care, they were only going to pull her into the Hospital and then laugh cruely in her face. Namine couldn't imagine Demyx being one of those contorted faces laughing but in her state of crazy hallucinations it was the only reason she had for everything. The only reason the blond had for their mysterious kindness. As they pulled into the Hospital parking lot, Namine felt er consciousness slipping as her arms went limp. She was sure she was about to pass out. Maybe not die--but certainly lose her ability to stay awake for the moment. Roxas took a deep breath, before raising a hand and slapping Axel clear across the face. Hard. He sincerely hoped the red-head would gain a bruise from the hit and maybe even a cut. Then it would get infected. Yeah. He wanted Axel to get infected. God he was pitiful in a state of anger. He leaned down to Axel, his blond hair falling slightly to tickle Axel's pale cheek. "I'm the one in control dumbass. I could do anything I wanted to you." Roxas knew that was somewhat a lie. What with his throbbing head and uncontrollable emotions he doubted he could do much. Except maybe diagnose himself with biopolar disorder. "I could even get back at you even more from that stupid stunt you pulled yesterday."
Rosie 3 Posted April 14, 2011 "Cloud- she's-" Demyx started to insist, nearly choking the words out past the fear- it was only just hitting him now that he could have done something more, noticed sooner, called for help the moment he saw Namine- but he hadn't. It wasn't like he knew anything about wounds; in his head, bleeding equalled bad, although bad was like a scrape from falling off your bike, or a nasty papercut- nothing like this. So, of course he assumed that it was fatal, even though it wasn't, not instantly, anyway. At least he wasn't alone, or, heaven forbid, with Axel- the redhead would probably have crashed, and even if they'd survived the journey Demyx doubted he'd have stayed as calm as Cloud, who just, after helping him out of the backseat and making sure he wasn't going to drop the frail blonde in his arms, led him by the elbow into the building and somehow, all with a few level-headed words with the receptionist, actually got help. Maybe it was just the fact he was an adult that made them pay attention, not asking hundreds of awkward questions- Demyx knew he'd probably have freaked, or have just babbled everything so that he coudn't be understood; while, at the very least, they understood it was bad. Still he... oddly, didn't really warm to the idea of letting go of Nami, even though he knew it was dumb and that she was going to be helped. He was just being protective again, he told himself- it had happpened before, and he recognised the signs, the worry, the reluctance to even leave her for a moment... damn it, and here he'd thought this therapy thing could just be easy. And, the most annoying thing of all? He wasn't allowed to go with her, because they couldn't prove he was family. Stupid hospitals- which meant, they just left him in that stupid, horrible, smelly, too-bright room, to wait. Just to wait. The hand cracked across his face, and a loud expletive burst out of the redhead as his head rocked sideways. The skin of his cheek felt smarting, raw, and he let out a low hiss, the soles of his boots scraping against the floor as he tried to- well, he didn't know what. Struggle, kick out, push himself free- like it mattered. The movement was all he cared about- and here, constricted space as he had, he had very little of it. Giving an irritated grunt, he fought the urge to spit in Roxas' face again, like the day before, and instead snapped, "You're not- in- firetrucking- control- you hear me?! And, believe me, I am just getting started with you."
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 14, 2011 ((Shall we skip the whole operation thingy with Nami?)) Roxas felt a low growl in the back of his throat as he and Axel were met head to head with each other, locked in one serious glaring competition. Odd how at the moment he wasn't feeling fear towards Axel's threat. He wasn't up for any more physical abuse but he couldn't exactly say that it hurt as much as the verbal insults shot at him. He didn't give a damn about any beatings given to him. He misbehaved enough in Pre-K to know that it stopped hurting a while. Roxas cringe slightly at those old time memories before he had grown up and silenced his dad by talking back during one of his rants. Rants about how Roxas was a failure, how he could never take over the company the way he was, how he was wasting his life...Roxas got all that. But really, he just didn't care in term of his selfish father. As long as he got A's and B's in his classes like he was he was fine as far as he was concerned. Which is why he never took anyone seriously, especially not some Senior brat with issues. "Oh, are you?" Roxas questioned, tone cold with hate as he pinned Axel's shoulders to the tile floor of the school as best as he could with his diminishing grip. When his anger faded...so did the temporary strength. It was only a matter of seconds before he fellcompletely feeble and brittle. "What are you going to do to me, do tell? I'd love to know what pathetic plan you have in mind now." Because to Roxas, being punched and hit and threatened was nothing to him unless personally it effected his life. Rosie 3 Posted April 15, 2011 ( I think that's easiest. xDD ) For someone who didn't usually bite his nails, Demyx had done a remarkable job of as good as destroying half the nails on his right hand- taking them right down to the quick as he waited. It definitely didn't help that no one would tell him anything- and while the family rule also applied to Cloud, HE had managed to just brood there in silence. Nerves didn't affect him like they got to Demyx- and it certainly helped that he had no idea who Namine was, didn't hold any responsibility for her. Well, not any beyond what was expected for a teacher and a pupil, especially one he'd never taught- somehow, Dem didn't see Nami signing up for guitar or drum lessons anytime soon. But Demyx? He didn't take many things seriously- his education, for one- but when he was supposed to be looking after someone, that mattered. More than most things. It wasn't even like he could think of it as big brother instinct- he'd never had siblings, and had never really been looked to look after others when he was a kid. Part of the advantage to being a scrawny kid, he imagined- and, although he certainly hadn't been doing much filling out, things had changed. He wasn't the oldest, and he certainly wasn't the biggest guy around- but he was passed on people, like he could fix things. And the stupid thing? He was always... kind of scared something bad would happen while he was looking out for someone. That he'd fail. And he didn't want to fail anyone- especially someone as fragile as Namine. Axel pushed back, flashing a sudden grin when he noticed resisting was getting easier. It was infuriating, being pinned against the damn floor like some snivelling weakling- but it wasn't gonna last much longer, he could tell- he could see it in the kid's eyes, that stupid fury fading fast. "Well, as much as I'd love to break both your legs and dangle you from the roof in the hopes some birds or something'd eat your miserable hide, that'd probably get me arrested. More's the firetruckin' pity, huh? But, c'mon, really? Like I'd ruin the surprise. Hey, maybe you'll get off lightly for some jackassed brat who ruined my car- who knows? Just hope no one you know gets hurt." Okay, fine, he'd acknowledged he couldn't break this kid- now all he had to do was find a damn weak spot, something to use against him- that was all Axel needed. zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 15, 2011 ((And color is being gay again, dammit!)) Namine blinked her eyes open slowly. The first thing she heard was the constant beeping coming from a monitor somewhere near her head. A soft thrumming joined the monotone beeping and she was pretty sure that was also a fan somewhere above her. It didn't take a genius for her to know she had successfult made it to the hospital after passing out. And she had lived nonetheless. Which meant she got to see Demyx again. She got see his smile, hear his laugh, and he even had to keep his promise to sing to her. ((Just got this cute vision of Dem' going to Nami at prom and serenading her there x3 IDK random thought )) For once Namine was glad to be alive. Even if she was in pain. Her eyes opened a little more, bein flooded with a bright light, and she gave a small sound of dismay, raising an arm above her head to blink. It was then she noticed a needle in her arm. And she promptly shrieked shortly before clamping a hand over her mouth. ((I'd scream. Needles are scary D<)) Roxas frowned, struggling a bit as he realized Axel was pushing back to get up and succeeding. "D-Dammit..." He hated this. He hated Axel's haughty tone and his glorious smirk that ha reappeared. He disliked being put at such a low level of confidence like this. And the visual sent to Roxas' mind via Axel's colorful description made him visibly cringe, even though he muttered under his breath: "Better be in the air than in a tight space..." But it was when Axel continued his threat that he felt his blood run cold. The first person that came to mind was his brother: Sora. If Axel dared to--if he even laid a finger on his brunette head...Oh god he'd shoot him. "Don't you dare think of coming anywhere close to my family Axel. If you hurt him I'll hunt you down and show you what sick Abd twisted really is!" Roxas remarked, glowering dangerously. "I'll make your car look like it was a fun carnival ride." Roxas threatened, more fearful then angry of Axel actually committing to his word of action...
Rosie 3 Posted April 26, 2011 (Guuuuuuuh, sorry, my internet is being a bastard as of late (all over again) and my art exam was/is totally looming over my head. [/shot]) "Can I go see her yet?" It was the fifth time Demyx had asked that in ten minutes. No matter what the stupid nurse said, he didn't want to let his guard down and relax until he'd actually seen that Namine was okay- after all, they could just be telling him that to calm him down, couldn't they? So it wasn't exactly standard procedure, he was damned if he was sitting around until she recovered- and Cloud's complete calm was more aggravating than ever. So Demyx was getting a little too wound up, he couldn't help it- he took responsibility seriously, no question about that, and his usually pretty chilled nerves were pretty much at their end. Maybe it was partly the fact it was a hospital. He'd always hated them- felt queasy from the smell of disinfectant, and then only felt worse thanks to the too-bright walls and screeching whenever anything generated any friction against the overly-clean floors. It was just a mix of sounds and smells and visuals that made his stomach flip horribly, left a hell of a lump gathering in his throat. It was kinda stupid- the hospital always made him feel worse. Perhaps it was just too serious. Still, at least the damn nurses seemed to be getting why he was so het up, and, at long last, one of them offered to take him through to Namine. "Ohhhhh, man, you do not know sick and twisted," was all Axel hissed in response, at last able to get enough leverage to lash out, kicking up at Roxas as hard as he could. It probably would hurt, sure, but, hey, it wasn't going to leave much of a mark. And if the stupid kid tattled on him, he could just say, completely truthfully, that it counted as self defense. But still, he was paying enough attention to Roxas' outburst to clock what he needed, fighting back at the time or not. Ha, this punk was just making sure Axel knew how to hit below the belt now, and the redhead was loving it.
zexion/ienzo 52 Posted April 26, 2011 ((It's no biggie, I understand ^^ BTW, purple'll be my new color since Pink isn't working anymore o_o)) Naming took deep inhalations of breath, closing her eyes softly. She hated needles--they horrified her and had left her traumatized. Her stepfather had a habit of doing....experiments on her sometimes. It was more like he inserted a substance of his creation into her blood streams. Most of the time it only made her drowsy and snatch away her consciousness. However it has been noted by Namine's careful and precise mind that their were always marks on her that weren't there before when she awoke from the deep sleep. The creaking of her door opening is what drew her attention and the sight momentarily made her forget about the needle in her arm. Demyx. Demyx looking like he was worried out of his mind but still her caring blond. Wait...her? "Demyx!" Namine was surprised to hear her voice rattling like she had been caught with a sore throat, the sound still somewhat smooth and soft but breaking with certain words. Roxas gave a breathy gasp, his blue eyes widening slightly with the sharp kicked delivered to his stomach. He bit his lip, refusing to crawl off of Axel, his cheeks flushed with anger as he panted, his hear working in over time to regain the lost breath. Axel was crossing into dangerous waters. He was walking a very thin line that if he crossed it, Roxas was more than willing to show him exactly how bad he could get. He was really worried though behind his rage. If Axel found out Sora was the most precious thing to his heart... "firetruck you," He spat, gripping the red-head's wrists tightly in defiance. "He has nothing to do with this so leave it that way. This is between me and you."
