superbanana 230 Posted June 30, 2011 really? nobody watched the news that night? the myan calender was translated wrong so it could actually be up to 50 years off, so either the world already ended or it's ending in 2062. and seriously, how do we know the mayan calender didn't end in 2012 just becauase they didn't wanna make that big of a calendar? i mean, who would make a calender thats like 1,000,000 years long, the mayans probably just said "bonk this, i don't need a calendar that tells me whats gonna happen in 2000 something years i'll be dead by then" also, we have like 8 armageddons scheduled for 12/21/12. theres the (and this is 100% against the laws of physics) invisible planet that's going to reverse the earths rotation and kill everybody, theres like 5 races of aliens that are supposed to take over the planet, and there's 2 zombie apocalypses. (i might have missed a few) 1. zombies. a zombie apocalypse wouldnt work because we have effing machine guns, the zombies just have slowness and teeth to bite with. 2.aliens. i do believe aliens exist but they have no reason to take over a planet, especially one as terrible as this place, do they really wanna live on a planet that's been this polluted. also, this wouldn't be a suitable planet for aliens to live on because it's full of oxygen. oxygen is actually a very poisunous gas, it's what makes apples turn brown when you leave them out to long, and plants treat it the same way we treat carbon dioxide (or maybe monoxide. i forget. whatever the gas we exhale is (i think it has the word carbon in the name)). the only reason we can live with oxygen is because we adapted to it around the time humans or monkeys (depending on if we were created by god or evolution) were created. 3. nibiru. there is no effing planet thats been behind the sun so we can't see it, and if it was coming in 2012 and was the same size all the wachadoos and conspiracy theorists say it is it would be as visible as the moon, and if a planet reversed our rotation we wouldn't die, we would just start spinning in a different direction. and it's impossible for a planet to reverse our rotation just through magnetic pull Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

superbanana 230 Posted July 7, 2011 i just got an idea. people think 2012 is the end of the world because thats when the mayan calendar ended. that could mean the end of many different things, not just the end of the world. the fact that the mayan calendar ended in 2012 could just mean something important is going to happen in 2012, something involving needing a new calendar. i still think it's just a coincidence that the mayan calendar ends in 2012 but if i did believe it had some meaning i would be leaning towards something involving aliens if anybody knows about aliens, its the people that were around in the time the mayan calendar was invented, they were the builders of stonehengde, pyramids, and all that stuff, most of which would require either heavy machiner or psychic powers (two things which aliens may posses). also, the mayans seemed like somewhat knowledgable people, and the only way to gain knowledge is to learn it (and lets face it, nobody else back then knew how to pick their noses correctly). EDIT: apparently if you go into the specifics, at sunrise on 12/21/12, theres going to be a rare astronomical occurence invovling the locations of the sun and earth and stuff in the milky way galaxy. the mayans referred to the pattern it forms as "the sacred tree". since when does sacred mean death? sacred means good, important, some other stuff (im too lazy to look up the definition). and to the mayans trees were a symbol of life. source: http://www.planetpap...21december2012/ kind of interesting, not necassarily relevant but if you're gonna believe everything the mayans say you might as well think the name of the end of their calendar means something.
