358daysbySLEEP 0 Posted March 11, 2011 Well, has most of you may know, earthquake in japan 8.9, tsunamis, flooding. Well, i made a thread real quick, just in case some of you were worried (like i was.) IGN posted an article about it and , in short, says the Japanese developers "for the most part, they are okay", and "most game companies are located a significant distance from the epicenter of the event." so yaaa, Square and Nintendo are not going to close or end themselves. Kingdom Hearts LIVES ON!!! Also i wanna say i hope everybody there in Japan is getting some form of aid and support, and i hope in the coming days maybe other countries can step in and supply care for the wounded or distressed people. J. Severe 1,137 Posted March 11, 2011 Yeah, I got the same info from IGN too. Hopefully everyone's safe. And I'm glad Square Enix didn't get damaged or anything. 'Cuz then we'd have to wait more for KH3D, or worse... KH3... O_o!!!!

got it memorized 3 Posted March 12, 2011 good for SE and other game company people involved. not so good for those who were affected. wish i could help those who did get hit by the quake and tsunami.
Coffeemug 1 Posted March 12, 2011 this is all making me fear 2012 lol, but yeah im glad my game companies are ok, and i hope the rest of 'em get some good support.
Tails 6,690 Posted March 12, 2011 I heard about the news about it this afternoon. It's pretty sad to see all those people die in that tragedy. Hmph, I bet the only reason IGN is even concerned is because of the games. this is all making me fear 2012 lol, but yeah im glad my game companies are ok, and i hope the rest of 'em get some good support. That has nothing to do with 2012. The earthquake happened because of thr techtonic plates crashing into one-another. And the reason a Tsuname cam after that is because of what the Earthquake had did and how it affected the ground underneath the water.
Wolf on the Run 391 Posted March 12, 2011 okay i'm more worried about the people in japan but i think square and nintendo should relocate there main buildings to countrys that are not affected by earthquakes tornados volcanos and tsunamise
pastelxdreams 10 Posted March 12, 2011 That's good, even though I am still sadened for the other people in Japan...
Keyblader 325 Posted March 12, 2011 okay i'm more worried about the people in japan but i think square and nintendo should relocate there main buildings to countrys that are not affected by earthquakes tornados volcanos and tsunamise The reason why the main headquarters are in Japan is because that is like basically technology central, it's almost the most advanced technological place ever concerning things like electronics and what not, I mean no rudeness by this next statement, but Japan is basically Nerd-Central, in the sense that there are lots of technologically smart people there, at least, that's from what I can tell. Like I said, I don't mean to be rude or stereotypical at all by what I said, if someone does believe that I was, I will be more than willing to remove what I said. SummerSnow 6 Posted March 12, 2011 I'm giving my prayers out to Japan. I asked the store I work at if we could do a donation drive or something. I want to do anything to help out somehow, I still have such an unsettling feeling in my chest.
Jaguar113 13 Posted March 12, 2011 same im glad it would suck too wait even longer and im still waiting to hear some more info on 3d and i hope the people in japan are okay and getting help.
Crimson 14 Posted March 12, 2011 Yeah Square-enix should be ok. Although there is a high death toll which is horrible, you know thousands of lives were saved because the buildings in city centres were engineered to withstand earthquakes (i.e wobble about instead of crack and fall to bits) very sorry to hear about the people in rural areas of Northen Japan though

I don't think there connected, and I also don't believe the world will end in 2012 to prove that last year I joined the Facebook event thing 2013 'Cuz I don't believe it. Also with the Earthquake, Tsunami, floods, and I heard this morning that an explosion at one of the Nuclear Power Plants in Japan. There were four of them that were close enough to the epicenter to be affected, and one of the plants cooling systems was damaged. I sugest people their thought to those in Japan that were affected, and those who live in the United States of other places who have family in Japan. . . That's what I'm doing. TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted March 12, 2011 Thank the gods! I don't what I'd do if Tetsuya Nomura, or anyone from Square or Nintendo or any Japanese singers/voice actors/mangakas I like died. My life mostly depends on Japan.
Oishii 3,987 Posted March 12, 2011 "People can make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999. Their donation will go to support relief efforts for the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. " [/Redcross promotion] Thanks for posting a confirmation. I wasn't really too worried since Tokyo got really lucky and Osaka is pretty far away from Sendai. I hope that, even though they're okay, the company will give them some time off to get in touch with their relatives and whatnot.

Kinode 3,056 Posted March 12, 2011 how can one be so idiotic to care more about games then people dying in Japan? thousands, no millions of people! you guys sure are heartless.
Keyblader 325 Posted March 13, 2011 how can one be so idiotic to care more about games then people dying in Japan? thousands, no millions of people! you guys sure are heartless. Did I ever say I cared more about video games than what's happening over there? No I didn't. I know you might not be directly talking to me, but you are still basically implying that I do. I sure can't relate to this whole situation, so I can honestly say that not a whole lot of emotions are going though my head about it, but I don't care more about video games than those people, I would always choose for those people to be alive over the main centers for video game development, those can be rebuilt, the lives of those people can never be remade.
