evolution of the KH series...

Recommended Posts

how old were yall when you first played the series?

and do you think it has grown with us? (meaning do you think its gotten more mature over the years)

lets see.. i first played KH on Christmas of 2002 when i was 8 years old and immediantly fell in love with it. and i guess personally, id say it has grown up alot since KH1 but without losing that Disney feel, ya know?

anyways, discuss :P

I first played KH back on 2002 when it first came out to the States. I think I was 9 back then. Can't remember too well. But the KH series has definitely grown more mature since it was introduced to us.

Haha now I feel old :P I got the first game on my birthday, I turned 15 :P I had heard about a mashup between Final Fantasy and Disney and had to have it, but it was still at its original price so I asked my parents to get it for my birthday :P

I remember seeing the commercial for the 1st one so many times, I was like, what, 12 or 13? But we didn't get a PS2 until '05~'06...........so I ended up playing 2 before 1. @_@;

And here I am, almost 21, and eagerly awaiting Dream Drop Distance. c'8

I first played Chain of Memories on my friends GBA. Later I emulated it.

Years later, I bought a used PS2 and KH2. I could never find KH1 in stock, and ended up getting re:CoM before finally finding KH1.

From then on I bought the games the day they released.

I'm not sure 'more mature' is the right word. More like 'more depressing'

I hate to say, but there's a thread about this.

Anyway, I don't remember too well but I think I first played KH when I was in 5th grade, don't remember the year. My cousin came from Florida and he was at my house so I was watching him play KH. I never wanted to play because I thought it looked scary especially in Traverse town were its dark and you see shadows pop up lol. After that, years later, I was at my other cousins house and he brought 2 games and he said I could have 1. It was FF10 and KH1, I wanted FF10 and he said he knew I would want that so and that he wanted it, so basically I was getting KH from the start. So a couple days later, I was playing KH and I was beat Oogie Boogie and my game never loaded cause it had scratches. In 2006 for christmas I got KH2(some things I didn't know because of KH1, like Ansem SoD, etc). Then a year later I rebought KH1 again to finish the story. I went on youtube and found secret trailers and such, after that I found Nomura's interviews, read everyone from KH1 to the KH2FM and after. And here I am.

The game has definitely matured. Look at BbS compared to KH1. KH: 3D (and BbSV2) looks really grown up, too.

KH was technically my first video game. I saw it advertised with the "Disney Secret Lab" commercials. As soon as they said, "It's like you're controlling the Disney movies." I had to get it. My sister and I begged our parents for a PS2 just to play KH. We got the PS2 and game that Christmas. I was nine back then, and am eighteen now. Anyway, we both instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I've gotten a GBA, DS, and PSP for other Christmases just to play KH (well, Final Fantasy too). I also bought a PS3 (that I hade to save for a long time back when it was still $600) just because I thought KH3 would be for it. I've played and beaten every U.S. released KH game (save that awful cell phone game that was only from Disney and not Square-Enix). Heck, I've unlocked all of the secret endings in the games that have them.

I'm already planning to get a 3DS (seriously, GameStop

Hmmm...had to be sometime in early 2002, saw the commercial and was like woo! Disney + Japan = Win, must Have. So i tried to buy it but my parents never let me...so...i forgot about it for a while until around 2005-2006. I walked into GameStop in the mall, (back when they still had demos of games...) and i (unknowingly) played the level after you arrive in the Sunset Area via Train. I just could not figure out how to jump those trash cans for a long time, then i got it and i was like...*bag Opens* "LOL IT WAS A DOGGIE!" i thought that was really fun, so i asked the Salesperson there what game it was and they told me it was KH2. And i was like O_O *fanboy scream* ''THERE'S A SECOND ONE!?!?!?" :) I tried to buy it then too, but parents...NOOOooo...so i figured out a way to buy them on my dad's birthday because we were at the mall, and so I got him a present and then bought both games. I Beat The 2nd one, but lost the 1st one for a long time and recently found it. Also, This Last Sunday i just finished my US Release collection...up to this point: BBS, KH1, Days/Com/Re:Com, KH2, and Last...(and totally least)...RE: Coded, and that's my experience and *Cough..obsession...Cough* "Shut Up Roxy..." ...with Kingdom Hearts :)
