The onion knight-based on the nameless warrior riding a dragon artwork while the 2nd costume is him as luneth wearing his freelancer costume.

Golbez-his appearance from the end of FF IV DS as a hero of cosmos.

Gilgamesh-his FF IX appearance.

 

FF VI

 

Kefka-a special costume is him dressing as the joker from batman.

Cloud-wearing his infantryman's uniform from crisis core.

 

Vincent-wearing his turk's uniform from dirge of cerberus.

Squall-1st uniform is his SeeD cadet costume and 2nd uniform is based on his promotional artwork.

 

Rinoa-1st uniform is based on her promotional artwork and the 2nd is her looking exactly adel like ultimecia looks exactly like edea and the 3rd is her ballroom outfit while her special costume is based on dion roger's outfit.

 

Seifer-1st uniform based on his amano artwork wearing brown clothing while the 2nd is based on his KH II appearance.

 

Laguna-1st uniform based on his twin moons amano artwork.

Vivi-1st costume is the black mages's under kuja's control 1st uniform and 2nd costume is the black mage's 2nd uniform while 3rd costume is based on his KH II appearance.

Jecht-wearing a uniform based on the besaid aurochs with wakka's armguard.

 

Auron-1st costume is from when he was a warrior monk and 2nd costume is based on his KH II appearance.

Sazh-is his normal uniform but with red/crimsion colours to match his eidolon brynhildr and her element of fire.

The original Dissidia was set in the 13th cycle of the ongoing war. The 012 references the fact Dissidia Duodecim is set as a prequel, during the 12th cycle.

I remember reading on FF Wikia that Nomura stated 012 will be the last of it's kind. So either it will be a full RPG or the series is over.
