earth_angel 73 Posted February 28, 2011 Hey all, So I was wondering: Nomura said that they want to do something special next year (2012) for the ten year anniversary of the franchise. So time to get speculating: what could it be? Since he already ruled out KH3, I'm seriously hoping for a re-release in HD a la Prince of Persia, which would include KH1, KH2, and Re:COM. I don't really think that that's gonna happen, but hey, I can dream right So what do you think? Something along the lines of a remake/re-release or a completely new game or...? He should probably take his time to fix the biggest problems with it to *Cough camera, targeting system, right joysick cough* and probably improve the graphics for all three. And remember, square enix is floating in cash and they have plenty of time, OR they could just higher some other company to do it, just like in the god of war collection, but there's also something I really hope they add if they do a collection thing. Give trophy/achievement support (you never know) Revoice Sora in KH1 to make it sound better with Rechain, OR just revoice him in REchain (though that would create a problem in Recoded which includes that scene) Add more bosses, cutscenes etc... improve graphics in NA/PAL/Europe (did I get it all right? lol) release the content in the final mixes, and if you feel the north american version of the collection is better DO NOT MAKE A Final Mix!! This is the future, where you can make updates which improves these quality issues, and if you do it will only cause an increase of bitching from all non-japanesse fans.(or the ones that import it.) Nomura and the development teams have their hands tied with other projects. @ TerraRedeemed: Could you provide a link to the interview in which he said he was considering a movie? Because I don't remember reading about that anywhere, and I keep hearing that he won't. Or if you know what magazine or site that information is on, let me know and I can try to look it up. Really I would love the final mixes in other countries, but I doubt that would happen because it would have to be something that all fans could enjoy in my opinion. So Japan gets in on it too. As for remaking games on a different system. Nah. Don't see the greatness with that. The thing that I most like so far on this thread is the crossover idea. What about a little thing where Sora explores his own mind and meets all the people that are inside of him. Ventus, Xion, Roxas...possibly Vanitas. I know that sort of thing would be happening in KH3D and KH3 but still. I like the idea. Either that or they give the chance for fans to make their own scenes using voice actors and design people! Nomura did say he was considering a KHI HD remake, but there's simply no time for them to make it right now. Besides, I really think that BbSV2 is the anniversary game. Does anyone notice in the BbSFM secret ending that "1" and "0" are the first numbers they show? Sure it's most likely saying that scene with Sora is KH1 and the one with Aqua is KH0, but you never know. It could be hinting the game's something for the ten-year anniversary. And BbSV2 would be perfect for the anniversary. I mean, it's most likely a game that covers all of them so far. I can't think of a better way to commemorate the anniversary. And maybe that's why the game hasn't been announced yet. Maybe they're trying to keep it somewhat of a surprise. Also, I agree with Keyblade King 12, I doubt it'll be an international release of the final mixes. It has to be something all the fans can enjoy. I just hope it's not another new game. That could convince me to get a whole PS3 on the spot! >_< Except, instead of just regukar KH, KH Re:CoM, and KH2, it can be the Final Mix version of KH1 and 2, along with Re:CoM, available for the first time for people who don't know Japanese! That would be heaven! *sighs longingly*... Oh well. It better be something good. Knowing Nomura and his video game expertise, I don't think we'll be disappointed. I think for the 1oth annveirsty it could be NOTHING! hey it will be acknollaged by everyone but thats abotu it i think. look at the 25th annerviesrty of Zelda. jsut for that day they didn;t do a single squate. But towo game sare gonna be released thsi year i guess to make up for it. so we might get a bvalcenced. hey maybe BBSV2 isn;t a game it could be a small interactive film that comes with KH3D. maybe as an unlockible bonus. No I haven't, but as far as I know, the Wii system is built for DVD quality, which is far from HD quality. Don't know if upscaling it thru a program would actually make that much of a difference... Maybe I should give it a try. And for the next generation Wii, they will start using Blu-ray (they confirmed that a little while ago) so yeah, it's definitely in the cards. As for the Tarzan issue Nomura did say he wanted The Jungle Book in KH but dropped it because of the similar geography of Deep Jungle so he could switch it out. hatok 6,413 Posted March 13, 2011 Okay, I'll try and answer everything here. The Wii can do HD. The only game I know of that is compatible is Klonoa. A Wiimake of KH is more likely than a PS360 remake because higher power consoles are expected to have higher graphical quality. By porting to the Wii, Square doesn't have to change the graphics. Why does Disney get blamed for everything? If anything they'd be very much for making a KH movie, but Square Enix wouldn't allow it because they've lost astronomical amounts of money on their cinematic ventures. I doubt we'll be seeing ports yet, because that would require selling KH games at a bargain price. Most stores still sell KH1 and 2 for 24.99. Chain of Memories is usually between 9.99 and 14.99. That's 60 dollars, as opposed to probably 30 dollars. Stack that up against the cost of doing this remakes (Which are made all the more expensive by fan expectations like new worlds, bosses and voice acting) and it just doesn't make much financial sense to do. I suppose they could remake both KH1 and 2 separately for 30 dollars each though, and simply add Final Mix content... that might work. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
