No, Pureblood Heartless are made from darkness, in order words, the embodiment of darkness. Emblem Heartless are the hearts of people who have had hearts taken away from them once they succumbed to darkness. (That doesn't explain why Sora turned into a Shadow in KH1 though...) The Heartless in Radiant Garden were indeed purebloods, but they were not MADE, the experiments caused them to spawn. As for the emblems, they were the result of the experiments made to multiply them, and they just continued to multiply on their own. As for the Unversed, they were created from Vanitas, the original Unversed, and he probably created the symbol for them. That should answer your question.
