roxasEX 0 Posted February 23, 2011 I cant believe that this game was actually released i love kinhdom hearts but this game is just not good at all. i understand that the kingdom hearts team is working on versuse13 but who is working on these new ones because some of them suck(BBS is the best story so far 2 me) horribly, who else feels this way and who dissagrees. (dont copmment on spelling i know it sucks)
Keyblade King 12 486 Posted February 23, 2011 Okay. Matter of Opinion! I liked the game, and it was designed to set the stage for Kingdom Hearts 3D and Kingdom Hearts 3. BBS, 358/2 days, Re:coded and KH3D are all being done by the same writing staff. The people who did days were doing this game for the fighting styles, which were great, because it was like BBS, but then you got stuff like the battle system in Olympus Collesium, which was awesome in my opinion. J. Severe 1,137 Posted February 23, 2011 Re:codded? Now, what the heck is "Re:codded"? And what's a "wast of time"? Oh, wait... *reads last sentence* Never mind. And I beg to differ. I think Re:coded is a great game, combining all the good elements of Birth by Sleep. 358/2 Days, and the original Coded. Not to mention that it has many different styles of combat and whatnot, instead of sticking to the regular battle system. To answer your question, I believe the development team H.A.N.D. worked on it, with some help from Square's Osaka-based team, and even the KH team themselves. The story may lack in some parts, but overall, it delivers, like all the other games, and it'll pay off when KH3 arrives and its story is awesome because of these sidegames. So yes, I disagree with your statement.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 23, 2011 I agree that storywise it didn't go very far, but as a game it was great. What people need to realize is that the story's like Order of the Phoenix or Chain of Memories. It's an in-between bit to lead up to the next big one. Cosmiccathorse 1 Posted February 23, 2011 In one way I agree with ya. After completing Re-coded I felt swindled and like it was a waste of time. BUUUUT!! I loved some of the different ways to play the game, and some of the boss levels were really inventive. I paticulary liked the last two bosses, even though I wanted to HATE my fav char so much for kicking my ass a hundred times. I must admit Sora with shotlock levels Rocked Sooo not all a waste of time, but I wouldn't replay it. I just hope Sora gets Shotlock sometime for normal play and not wisdom form =p Same with Synch Blade. So yeah a great waste of time

Zenithia 305 Posted February 23, 2011 tutti frutti. Me, personally, I hated re:coded overall. It's the only game of the series that I disliked the least. Parts of the gameplay that was like BBS I liked, although much of the other gameplay I didn't really care for too much. To me it's one thing if the same wasn't canon to the main series, similar to how Mario Party is to the Mario Series just a game for fun and nothing to do with the main story, but it didn't really have any point to the series. For the most part KH:CoM and KHDays I liked storywise and thought the gameplay was solid for each game, but even though I didn't like them on the same level as KH1, KH2, and KHBBS. Overall Answer: Re Coded was a waste of time.
Wuver 920 Posted February 23, 2011 After finishing the game three times, i finally realized what ididnt like. I didnt like the side quests and storywise was effie. Yeah but after a while i noticed it was a waste of my time, even though im a big big fan of kh.
Kishira 2,854 Posted February 23, 2011 This thread is more of a waste of time than Re:Coded was, oh wait, I actually really enjoyed that game. You totally just won, runner up was Days. ;D Ok, angry fangirl gone. But I enjoyed the hell out of that game. @w@<
King Riku 2,063 Posted February 23, 2011 Recoded is a great game. The game could have been longer. It only took me a day and a half to beat it, but It's still pretty cool. It's just your opinion if you hate it.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted February 23, 2011 After finishing the game three times, i finally realized what ididnt like. I didnt like the side quests and storywise was effie. Yeah. It would've been better if there was more optional stuff. I'm going through the Coliseum again, but it's just too easy now. Definitely needed extras. Sora'sMum 352 Posted February 24, 2011 The game was . . . alright. At the moment all I'm trying to do is get all the avatar parts (60% there) because I cbf playing the actual game. I just feel it was unnecessary to release an entire game for the little it actually added to the storyline. It could have really been summed up in 1 or 2 cutscenes. TheOriginalBob 110 Posted February 24, 2011 I personally welcome Recoded. I bet it would shed a different light on things had they kept the game exclusive on Japanese phones. I'm still annoyed i can't play FFVII: Before Crisis. So i welcome ReCoded even if it's not on the same par as other games, I'm delighted to be able to play it. Also I'm still miffed about not releasing Re Chain of Memories over here in the UK whats the deal with that?!
zeno247naruto12 5 Posted February 24, 2011 i likes the game but i beat it and i didnt beat it i beat it cause i beat roxas the final boss but i didnt beat it cause alittle after hollow bastion (like before the dragon fight) i hacked the piss out of the game with my action replay so to me i didnt beat it yet to me in story i give the game a 3 out of 10 all there was just debug the journal find out what the messages said and find out the people sora had to save and thats preaty much it i also HATED how short the game was even if i had use cheats without them it would have taken me a day or 2.And also just because your a big Kingdom Hearts fan doesnt mean you have to like all of the games >.>(also u might have say alot of errors in my post because i did this from my phone)
BrokenHeart-less 10 Posted February 24, 2011 the gameplay was fantastic, it was a combination of kh1 battleplay and bbs(only thing was terrible guarding) but those two being my favorite in the series the gameplay kicked ass for a DS game system. and again dont complain about what numuara has given us when he could have just gave us nothing for 9 years
roxasEX 0 Posted March 14, 2011 well all of you bring up good points so my opinion has actually changed a bit i believe that BBS was the best handheld game so far good enough to be ranked with KH1&2 i also think that i stated my opinion on re:codded in the wrong way i ment that the fighting and game play weren't very great and didn't really win me over but the story was great (like usual) and i also believe that kh3 will be coming out in 2013 and that square-enix should step up to the performance of BBS and 365/2 days (which had awesome stories and great combat) with the next kh games coming out soon. Kinode 3,056 Posted March 20, 2011 Wait, you say you don't like the gameplay and like the story? Hum.. No. But yes, Re: Coded is very important to the story. More particularly, the ending.
deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted March 23, 2011 overall, I think coded was an okay game. It's alot of fun to play, and there's alot of extras even after the story is finished (which takes little time.) As for the shortness of the story...it WAS originally a tiny little side story put on a CELL PHONE. So that is why the story is short. It was never meant to be a big deal storywise, just about connecting BBS to the present and leading up to KH 3DS and eventually Kingdom Hearts III. It was remade for the DS so that everyone could enjoy what it had to say.
keystrike 145 Posted March 23, 2011 Wait, you say you don't like the gameplay and like the story? Hum.. No. But yes, Re: Coded is very important to the story. More particularly, the ending. The ending is basically blank points and hardly revealed anything new. The main part of the game however, holds themes yet to be introduced to the series such as the heart and data question. baylaust 2,531 Posted March 23, 2011 One thing I notice a lot of KH fans do, is say that when a game has a weak story, it sucks. One steadfast rule I keep for judging games: the story does NOT make the game, the gameplay does. Re: Coded had excellent gameplay, so I think it's one of the better entries in the series.
