Tails 6,692 Posted February 22, 2011 There are three forms of Japanese that the Japanese people speak, read, and write. Those are Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. I should know since I myself am learning to read and speak Japanese.
Godot 513 Posted February 22, 2011 @Soratheking- I think that only applies to Japanese writing lol. Speaking is just called Japanese.

dawn1104 0 Posted February 23, 2011 its probably mostly Kanji and Hiragana, Katakana is used more in order to translate words that are not originally japanese.
khoathkeeper13 429 Posted February 23, 2011 I don't even know. I though japan had 1 language which is japanese. nope there are multiple like nihongo and katakana umm, isn't "nihongo" japanese for "japanese language"? (I think) Anyway there's katakana, which is usually used for foreign words and names; hiragana, which is more or less the japanese alphabet; and there's kanji, which is words like "light" "darkness" "world" "love" "friends" etc. (failed at explaining kanji)
