soulreaper52 9 Posted February 22, 2011 am i the only one who thinks there should be a CGI opening(whatever its called) for KH3 like KH0-1 because those are the only games with them and there most important 1 AGuedajep reacted to this
hatok 6,413 Posted February 22, 2011 CGI openings are a byproduct high budgets. Games with low budgets reuse cutscenes form previous games for their openings, but high budget games; KH1, KH2 and BBS, have enough money for high quality models. KH3 will be a high budget endeavor, just like 1 and 2, so it will inevitably have a CG opening (And probably ending, if we're lucky, they may even give it enough budget to have CGI cutscenes, like Crisis Core adn other FF games) I'd just like to note that CGI just means Computer Generated, the correct term would be High Quality CGI, as that implies the graphics are too high quality to be rendered normally (Technically, the DS games openings are CGI)

CGI Opennings are indeed expensve but It also depends not only on money but the sofeware you have to. Untity for example can make wii games but also dependign on whcih quatilly you have and add-ons of different sofeware you can get ca get the better CGI Rendering/image. in simpl contexts its mostly what Hatok said. J. Severe 1,137 Posted February 22, 2011 So those high-quality CG openings are expensive? How much did it take to make Final Fantasy VIII Advent Children?! o_O And I'm praying that Kingdom Hearts 3D gets a cool CG opening. If it's as important as Nomura says, then why not? It's about time a game on a Nintendo system gets those kinds of FMVs.

My point is that CGI only means that the image is computer generated, not that the graphics are inherently higher quality. The openings for the DS games are CGI, but they aren't the same quality of CGI as KH1,2 and BBS. Basically, I wasn't referring to what CGI stands for, but what it means. How much did it take to make Advent Children?! o_O 135 million
