Ventuswind 4 Posted February 18, 2011 Ok so this has been a topic for kids at my school in America. " Will America Eventually become a, as per say, 'New China'?" I think American economy will GET SO BAD that we will technically be China's lap dog. If that happens I'm takin' my family and movin' to Italy.8DDDD

Rue 3 Posted February 18, 2011 That would never happen. Never say never. China is working on cars, which will make them in about say 20-80 years form now the most poluleted country int he world next to us.(us as in USA, you got nothing to worry about.) I don't think so o-o Well if it does happend, I wouldn;t be surprise iI would say we all asked for it. Too much Fallout 3 perhaps? lol I think so my friend. of coure never know. China is very big and form what i remember as a kid "fool, you never get into a land war with Asia(or was it China?)"
Think Pink 1,967 Posted February 21, 2011 I highly doubt this will ever happen. China isn't exactly a heavenly place, either. It'd take a lot for America to need to ask China for help like that. We're not anywhere near that point.
RoxAs Is Wise 7 Posted February 25, 2011 China is using America's money to light up industries there (having plants, etc) sadly what previously America didn't know was there's no exit once entering the China now they are stuck up to it. ^No China is not heavenly places, outside Beijing, the rural areas are incredibly poor, lots of disease and all. But the government is 'sacrificing' its own people to make China marvelous, maybe similar in personality with ancient China (come on, do you think the great wall was built voluntarily?). But in complex way of macroeconomics and money market (blah blah blah thing) they might do it, that's what people are worrying about. Oh, almost forgot, if you take a look at "made in ..." thing in your daily shopping items (jeans, baseball cap, etc) very likely you wont find made in America, they're all made in China. (I've made the writing without good spacing, only those interested in market will read it) On more advanced note: China is also supporting America from stocks, that's quite hard to shake off. J. Severe 1,137 Posted February 26, 2011 No, America can't become China. The US will find some way to get us out of this debt problem... eventually... If we become anything, I'd want us to become Japan. Japanese food and video games FTW!
Amon 4,279 Posted February 26, 2011 The only way America could become that weak would be if they fought a massive war against each super power on earth. China is so polluted right now that it won't be shocking if they need to walk around with life support in 10 years. Essentially getting rid of any problems with China is just a matter of waiting for their environmental to completely fail. Another thing, America and China are massive trade partners. They give us cheap labor we give them the money they need to build their nation. America is the lifeline of China and China is the lifeline of America. Only if America decides to cut ties with China we can get our labor elsewhere, probably India. Although both nations would fall into a depression, America would recover much faster than China (if it recovers at all). With the release of China's new Stealth fighter it is likely a Cold War between the US and China might start to erupt. With that said, America would rather turn to Russia for help than China. Yes Russia, believe it or not, our relations are probably better with the Russians right now than with the Chinese. That's saying something.
DarkAngelGrl22567 10 Posted February 26, 2011 I don't really think we'll be "China's lapdog" but we will eventually become more in debt with China as the years go on I believe. But that's how the world works. So many countries are in debt with us as we are with China. It's just how things work. I don't really see this becoming a real issue though.
