March 31, 201213 yr 1) - His eyes probably turned orange (like DiZ / Ansem's eyes) sometime after Chain Of Memories because of Ansem SOD. 2) - The blindfold may have been a see-through.
May 21, 201213 yr they say this in Kingdom Hearts 2 Mickey Says HIS EYES COULDN'T LIE! that's the answer, stop over analyzing
May 26, 201213 yr Dont know what to say that isn't gonna be "his eyes couldn't lie". Haha but seriously tho I think it's metaphorical, the blindfold hides his eyes and probably in a mental sense helps Riku to block his Darkness. I mean Dark powers in KH usually manifests in changed eyes, skin tone and for some reason ears!

Haha but seriously tho I think it's metaphorical, the blindfold hides his eyes and probably in a mental sense helps Riku to block his Darkness. I mean Dark powers in KH usually manifests in changed eyes, skin tone and for some reason ears! I agree... it's metaphorical or perhaps figurative or symbolic. Do not take it for a literal meaning since the game itself is not super-realistic (i.e. people can jump off buildings without getting hurt) and figurative (i.e. people can have their hearts removed / draw power from the heart / draw power from the darkness / etc.) Surely in a non-realistic story then he can walk around completely aware of his surroundings and still be able to fight despite having a blindfold on.However, if the series was more realistic / based on real life then I highly doubt that he'd be wearing a blindfold at all since he'd constantly be walking into things and be unable to fight very well. And I personally think that it is entirely symbolic / has no literal meaning whatsoever (other than the fact that in the game he is physically wearing it). The idea that wearing a blindfold supresses the darkness really makes no sense... not to mention that it is contradicted in one cutscene where he lifts up the blindfold from one eye in order to take a look at Xion, but he remains unchanged despite one eye being uncovered. If only a single eye had to be covered then why not just walk around with an eye patch on? Eye patches are cooler anyway! Also that scene proves that his eyes did not change colour at all, since the eye that is shown looks completely normal.

I think the scene he lifts his blindfold was just so he could see her briefly, I don't think he could afford to have his eye totally exposed! As for eye colour I think that despite his use of Darkness and even with his cloak to guard his body I think it's because of Riku's benevolence that his eyes weren't corrupted with Darkness and looked yellow. like Look at Braig when he was still human the Darkness Xeahnort showed him corrupted his good eye and even pointed his ears, even Saïx and Xemnas have similar eyes. I think the purpose behind using Darkness is what corrupts people's bodies, the Organisation members most corrupted have very selfish and malevolent intentions. Xeahnort's Heartless has the whole shebang being Xemnas' inversed personae. Which brings me to Riku's one corruption, using Darkness after he had Xeahnort's Heartless under wraps, for some reason gave his body presence over Riku's but not his mind.
May 27, 201213 yr As good as the blindfold looks on him, how does it help him supress his darkness? Why can't he wear a magic pair of gloves or boxers? And how can he fight with that thing on, and then he has to take it off to look at Xion's face? Edited May 27, 201213 yr by NightfallXIII
May 27, 201213 yr 358/2 days was the first Kingdom Hearts game I ever played. So when I saw Riku for the first time I thought he was this awesome blind character, who had mad fighting skills. I got a big surprise at the end of the game.
why did Riku have a blind fold on during 358/2 and kingdom hearts 2
