Tsunamo 62 Posted January 27, 2011 First picture of it, it's called NPG (Next generation portable) for the time being, although it's probably just a codename. Developers have managed to port PS3 games/part of PS3 games over with ease, so the hardware is easy for developers to use, they certainly are giving Nintendo a run for their money this generation. Call of Duty's also coming to the system, so the sales will be through the roof when it releases. Hate to say it, but I'm more hyped for this than I am the 3DS. CardCaptorDeadpool 386 Posted January 27, 2011 I suppose its basically confirmed SE will not be bringing any KH to this anytime soon (as in they'll be whoring off to the 3DS' dated graphics to be cheap from now on!!) , other than that pessimism as long as Sony provide a handy way for my UMD games to be played on it Im hyped, plus Im already loving the game line up!!!!! Cyber Shaman 990 Posted January 27, 2011 it looks nice. can you play old psp games
Tsunamo 62 Posted January 27, 2011 Original PSP games can be played on it, but they have to be downloaded from the PSN. See, it's ditching the UMD slot, which makes it more lighter. Games will be downloaded from the PSN and put onto these in retail releases, at least it makes it more lighter.
Cyber Shaman 990 Posted January 27, 2011 that kinda suck
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted January 27, 2011 that kinda suck nope, it's much better: you will be able to buy games from shops, not just relying on teh interwebs backwards compatibility with PSPgo games and anything from the online library they will probably keep updating the online library with PSPgo and PSP2 titles as well very small game cards, meaning you could fit like 40 game cards just in a box for a pack of cards. plus they would be harder to break than the UMD discs (which broke very easily) btw, updated it with Pics, the PSP2 is one beautiful piece of machinery
Deadshot 666 Posted January 27, 2011 psp2 sounds better than 3ds now but i was sony fan to become with. The year Playstation keeps getting better.I love trophys and uncharted on the road sounds great.PSP2 looks thick. And finally two thumb sticks and line-up souns nice
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted January 27, 2011 look at the pics, it looks very thin. but mainly: - trophies - different forms of game avaliable to play - looks completely beautiful, compared to the (IMO) chunky 3DS plus, with the rear touch pads, it looks like they could serve as L2 and R2 buttons, which could make for full on PS3 ports
Deadshot 666 Posted January 27, 2011 PSN downloads like shatter and pac-man will properly be able to play them no psp 2.Not making it 3d is also a wise choice.I wonder what there going to do for costs hopefully it wont be over

CardCaptorDeadpool 386 Posted January 27, 2011 I don't recall trophys ever being confirmed for the system. Trust us this things getting trophy support! I wasnt sure how to take sony dropping UMD support altogether but I think the pros far outweigh the cons, it'll be lighter. Also Im not sure by how much but battery life is seriously gonna noticeably go up now that it doesn't have to exert a lot of power constantly spinning the disc especially for games with frequent loading screens. Sony have proven how well their digital distribution service works and have learned from both the PSP & GO's mistakes, Although Im worried about its price and "near-PS3" graphics, I know Sony have wanted to one-up the next-gen but many japanese game developers not being able to cope with proper next-gen development migrated towards the still relevant and easy to develop for systems like the PSP & DS. This could make everyone whore to 3DS and the last "easy way"
VENROXAS 152 Posted January 27, 2011 Hmm, I'am still gonna get a 3DS to me buying a psp2 is somewhat of a waste for me I just bought a psp3000, I won't wnat to buy another psp thats even better than the last somewhat of a waste for me.
hatok 6,413 Posted January 27, 2011 They better not put Birth by Sleep Volume 2 on this i dont have the money to buy it. Seems very unlikely, if they were going to make PS3 quality graphics, they'd put it on the PS3.

Wolf on the Run 391 Posted January 27, 2011 that plate on the back thats not solar power panels is it
Deadshot 666 Posted January 28, 2011 they said porting to ps3 to psp are easy and games like line-up in psp 2 is impressive.PSP2 is about 2007 ps3 visuals and 3ds is around late ps2.psp 2 needs good battery life. a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles you can buy a stores so you don't hav eto download if you don't have to
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted January 28, 2011 as someone else said, the battery life will be improved because they won't have to spin a disc for one thing. and they won't have to keep up a 3D display. that plate on the back thats not solar power panels is it no idea whatsoever
hatok 6,413 Posted January 28, 2011 The plate on the back is a touch-pad isn't it? While this is a technically superior machine, the lineup and 3rd party support seems less than stellar. The 3DS's capabilities are closer to the X-Box (Not 360) BTW, not the PS2.
