The town of Centralia has been decreasing in population for many years, ever since a mine fire occured. Deadly gases are what to have been the cause of this but two set out to learn the truth of the dwindling population of the eerie city.

Name: Thomas "Tommy" Abshire Jr. lolwhutmyuncle?

Age: 20

Short Bio: As a child, his parents have set goals and high expectations for Tommy. His father, Thomas Sr. wanted his son to be in the family business. His mother, Carol, wanted him to be a lawyer. However, neither futures appeased him. He wanted to be involved with science, like geology.

Upon graduating, while his parents see this achievement as a step towards their dreams, Tommy sees it as a step towards his own. However, despite receiving a scholarship, he wanted to study the world on his own first. Two years later, an interesting chance came when his friend phoned him about Centralia.

Appearance: He has short, black hair that he intends to grow out. Many claims that his hazel eyes look just like his mother's. With white skin, he covers most of it with casual clothes, such as hoodies, jeans, t-shirt, ecetera. He is also near-sighted, so he wears a pair of glasses.

Short Bio: Julia had lived in a fairly big city, but always interested on how the other half lives. Her mother shared the same interest, but although they were well off, they couldn't afford to travel, because it would be too expensive, even if it was to a remote town.

After college, she heard about Centralia and was determined to visit that place, feeling a bit suspicious about it. She didn't believe the population could be as small as that.

 

Appearance: Julia is tall, dark skinned, with auburn colored hair and hazel eyes. Her hair is long and sort of wavy, once curly but due to Julia's constant straightening of her hair, the curls were destroyed and her hair was somewhere undefined when it comes to hair types. Her clothes are more about comfort than style, big tshirts and old jeans were her thing.

(( Sorry that it took me awhile to come up with something. :'D ))

 

I was out on the open road, crossing past the Pennsylvania border. My pal, Kyle had phoned me a couple of days ago, telling me of an intriguing town called Centralia. He joked about how the population was as much as his brothers and sisters, but what interested me that most was the history. There was an accident in the coal mines in the 60s. Now, the dangerous gases still leak to the surface. I'm very interested in seeing how it has affected the landmark. Thus, I began my journey.

 

However, to my unfortunate extent, there will be bumps in the road. A pop emerged, followed by a long hiss. I realized what the situation was as the car began to fumble. Sighing, I gently pulled off to the side of the road. Coming to a complete stop, I shut off the engine. Taking my seatbelt off, I stepped out of the car and observed the side. Sure enough, I blew a tire.

 

"Great..." I muttered. I didn't know the number for the tow truck, but calling the police could help just as well. However, as soon as I took my phone out of my pocket, the first thing that I noticed was the absence of bar signals on the screen. Tucking it back in my pocket, I cursed under my breath as I leaned against the car. From my other pocket, I flicked out my lighter and cigarette pack. All I can do is wait for a passerby car to come and give me a lift. Seeing as how empty the highway was, it might be awhile.
