I was watching the cutscene, Legacy, where Terra performs the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony with Riku, and I think I have a theory for KH3. Perhaps, Riku will be the one to free Terra from Xehanort's control. What do you think?

I don't think that Riku will be the one to free Terra from his torment. He would kinda have to be "the key that connects to everything. As far as i know, I really don't think Riku will save Terra, Riku isn't really the type to connect his heart to everybody else's unlike Sora does. Besides, it's stated that Sora is the only one to save everyone, including Terra.

p.s. you really need to state your reasons why Riku would save Terra. You just said you have a theory, yet you only said "I think Riku will just save Terra" without having reasons or explainations to why.

I disagree. Transitively, Riku is connected to Sora. Sora is connected to Terra. Thus, Riku is connected to Terra. Anyway, if you think about it, Sora never actually 'met Terra. Sure, he saw him, but he never interacted with him. Riku did. And the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony does state "and you will find me Friend." But then again, it is just a theory. Who knows

When you put it that way, you're right. Although I already knew about Sora not actually meeting Terra, only his sentiments, aand that Riku is connected to Sora xD. But that's still a good reason to think Riku might save Terra though^^. But I kinda doubt it still, I mean sure Riku is connected to Sora and terra. But the "you will find me friend" doesn't really sound like Riku would save Terra, it more sounds like that they will meet again one day. Becuase it seems like Sora is most likely the person to save everyone, but I think that Mickey and co. will help him do it.

I'd say I agree, to an extent anyways. I mean, think about it. Sora really doesn't have a lot to do with Terra. He's seen him only once, and neither paid the other any attention. Out of all the people Sora has to save, Terra is the "farthest away", so to speak. The two of them are connected, but moreso through other people like Riku, or Xehanort. It isn't as clear as Ven, Aqua, or any one of the others. What I mean is, their connection isn't as strong as the others since those are more direct as he's at the very least met with or share a close connection with. His connection to Terra has been "diluted."

Riku at the very least playing the biggest part in mending Terra's hurting would make more sense, considering that the two of them are linked almost/just as closely as Sora and Ven. But in the end, it'd probably be Sora who does the finishing touches. He is after all, KH Jesus (no offense intended to anyone who may see this as offending).

But I don't think that one line had anything to do with it. That's just me.

well in recoded

namine says that sora has met "2 of them before" meaning terra and aqua so he has met terra

Yes, technically he has met him, as in seen once. They've never actually spoken. Namine can say "save Terra" and Sora will be like who the gebus is Terra?"

I hate to point out the obvious, but I think I will. Technically, Sora has met Ven, quite literally. He also met Aqua thus the two

In reference to that one line, from the ceremony, it could be seen as a way that Riku will find Terra. I believe that Terra would still be under Xehanort's control, and as you said, Riku would help heal Terra's torment. I mean after all, A journal cannot truly heal a person's hurt, it just gave them the material needed to figure out the answer

Think about this though, what if the line has already been fulfiled? Technically, Riku has encountered Terra twice since the ceremony, in the forms of Ansem SoD and Xemnas. Techically they are still Terra, since they are the Heartless and Nobody, respectively, to Apprentice Xehanort, aka Terranort. So if you think of it in that respect, Riku has already found Terra again.

Nomura hinted that a part of Terra may be in Riku now, if that's the case then It's prettymuch a given that Riku will have a big hand in saving Terra. Plus, he's a playable protagonist in Kingdom Hearts 3D, which hints at him having a big role in Kingdom Hearts 3 even if Sora is still the main man.

Hmm... Interesting. I kinda agree with this theory. Riku will most likely at least help Sora save Terra from his torment.

he IS connected to Terra, and he is the only one that has seen and even his inheritance, so I believe Riku will have a great role on saving Terra.

I agree with you, somewhat.

Here's what I'm thinking will happen: Sora will be the one to separate Terra from the rest of MX. Then Riku will do the rest, like helping him with his darkness and, if he really does have a part of Terra in him, return that part to him.

I'd like to say that it'd be only Riku to help him, but the secret ending of BBS already hints that Sora has to be involved in some way.

Well, true that Riku has big connections to Terra, seeing how they met in Destiny Islands. So maybe he will play a big role in either KH3D or KH3. And that role could possibly be him somehow saving Terra from Xehanort's control over him. I mean, it has been hinted that Riku could possibly have a little bit of Terra inside him. After all, he did touch his keyblade when he was just 5 years old and that could've somehow passed some part of Terra in Riku.. So I am starting to agree with your thoery.

A very interesting point, and one that I will concede with ease.

Yeah. I'm glad that we have come to terms
