I think tifa's issue is that her development even in OG mostly comes after aerith... she comes to understand how to support cloud better thru aerith after the northern crater events. But aren't we looking at tifa being too cloud centric, there's a lot of development like her relationship with avalanche...

That's my issue with the fandom and the way Square writes these characters.

In the fandom, everyone only ever talks about Tifa, Aerith, Cloud, and Zack's characters almost exclusively in the context of how they relate to each other. They don't allow them to stand alone, they don't analyze them as their own people.

Square doesn't help this with things like Rebirth's relationship mechanic, actively supporting Clerith mostly in Japan while throwing Cloti bones in the West- AND because they were never clear on Cloud's state of mind and Zack's influence, leaving all the key bits in goddamn Ultimanias, it's let to misconceptions about these characters.

To the point that if you gathered 20 people in a room they would ALL have different takes on all 4 of them.
