Final Fantasy XVI Spoilers Discussion

Hopefully gonna finish the game tomorrow, about to start the Origin quest
have done everything I can from the game up to this point, nothing much that can be done besides finishing it then start NG+

I doubt they will give more context to the ending. It's intentional. If we get a DLC it might be content that is completely unrelated to the ending. Maybe a few years later they will add more context

(Please don't!)

. They did the same with FF Tactics' ending

I really hope there's nothing in the Ultimania that gives more context

"Hey you need to buy a book if you want to get the true ending of the game"

People have now already formed their headcanons regarding the ending. If they add more context it will make people pissed

I believe the last time SE did that was with FF7 and we know how it turned out. People firetrucking hate the compilation

Oh ummm

Here's my Top 10 take aways from this game no one asked for; for your enjoyment, cringe, and/or criticism:

1. Clive is goated

2. Seriously Clive could probably body Safer Sephiroth

3. Music took longer to grow on me and while I wish it had more variation, this is probably the best mainline FF soundtrack since X

4. Eikon fights were aaaaaaaaaawesomeeeeeee

5. Wish Bendikta was around a little longer

6. Jill very good, her agency in the story bad

7. I feel like the graphics weren't as new age and cutting edge as I'd hope for; the world environments looked straight
PS3 at times, but, it didn't ruin the experience. But it definitely is inignorable.

8. IF there is DLC I'd prefer character expansions then a hypothetical Leviathan DLC personally. Like for Jill and/or Dion, hell even someone like Jote or best homie Gav

9. Gav is best homie

10. The combat while very fun felt incredibly samey for the entire game with no variation; the spells are all reskins that do the same thing, same damage output, and I truly feel lake of elemental weaknesses and less thought put into gear and armor made the game feel less tacticle. Not asking for turn base but at times the game felt too* easy, *too accessible. I feel this game, more than even the despised FF's 13, 8, and 15, could give new comers the wrong idea. The lack of block, while not awful, is an awkward design choice to me-- the fact that you need an eikon for a block is not a choice I would have made personally. Sidequests were better than some people say- there ARE good ones not at the very end, but, there ARE a lot of crappy/forgettable ones. The invisible barriers while running around on Ambrosia were annoying too- didn't feel nearly as free as I should have felt, imo. So when I'm seeing people say "mechanically this is one of FF's best outings" I'd say it could be a top 10 or 20, but top 5 or sm? I can't quite get behind that- there's too many glaring oversights and issues and again, they sacrificed utility for simplicity. At times to its detriment.

Oh yeah and bonus 11. Torgal is like the best character in the game basicslly.
