To those who played the demo, how do you feel about the story and the gameplay so far?

I can't get the square into triangle timing consistently, and the ending was confusing, but I think it's on purpose

got some fps drop using graphic mode at the start of the last fight, but I don't really care about that

can't wait for full release

and the OST !

Yeah the timing was weird on it

I think you need to hold triangle for the combo?

It's a fun game so far

I am just curious if each eikon really only gets 3 skills, I feel like that's not a whole lot

But that also depends on how long this game really is

My biggest gripe right now is how useless the stagger bar is

I swear Morlo took me four times to stagger before I killed that firetrucker, that's way too much

It helped a little bit when I got more skills during the Benedicta segment, but even against her phase two it took quite a bit of time

i didn't play more than one battle in the bonus mode to avoid spoilers, but it seemed like there were more abilities to unlock for each eikon

Yeah I saw that, I am curious if that's a skill or just a buff thing

Might be a limit break for the specific eikon

i think the stagger is for big damage number, it's gonna feel good later on i'm sure when you have more to rain down on the enemy

That's what i thought too but without spoilers, later on in the bonus mode it still took quite a bit of time

Maybe i did something wrong

Took me a while to fully figure out FF7Rs stagger mechanic

The moment you get it, you annihilate enemies so fast

i feel the same as you with most game using stagger, i think it's to add some rythm/depth to the fight more than being useful

Benedikta kicked my ass

it's super fun cycling through the eikons but holy shit I am so bad at the game

stagger is also super fun

frame rate so far is my only criticism

ngl Joshua made me firetrucking cry

this kid didn't choose or want this. poor guy is forced to do this

also the combat log is barely noticable

I also realized the best way to play this game is to not play it like DMC

I still can't believe how incredible the pacing of the prologue is. In 2 hours they introduce the conflict between the nations and the reason for it. Introduce likeable characters and end it with a firetrucking bang

it's funny how magic burst has the same weave windows as ogcds in FFXIV btw

also the voice actor of dragoon is apparently the same as estinien's btw

god I love Benediktas boss fight so much

the free staggers you get is so cool

basically "just spam the shit out of your eikon abilities"

and you can charge the sword during an ability animation

e.g stinger, downthrust, eikon abilities

i didnt get near death during my first run but i was definitely having trouble with keeping up with all the eikonic abilities at first lol

toward the end of the run i was getting used to it and then i just finished another run through that mode and did way better

also took the time to learn timings and using more abilities

i didn't realize that you could unlock some abilities in the menu until the 2nd run

and also you can read up on what all your regular abilities do and how to use them, like X + Square can be zoning into the enemy kinda like the phoenix ability but shorter range

X + Square in the air is a slice downward back to the ground is another one i didn't know until the 2nd run

Yeah my second run went much better too

Titans is really fun to use when you get the hang of him

I didn't realize he had a parry mechanic to his shield, it's fun to use

Too bad I am terrible at parrying

yeye its one of his base abilities, i was just comparing it to phoenix's because i was kinda sad i couldnt hone in without phoenix

until i found out i CAN

took a ton of fun photos in photo mode too

pause and be in the left-most sub menu(i think Status or something?) and then you can press the touch pad to get into photo mode

needs an easier way to access tbh unless i missed it
