Keyblader 325 Posted December 26, 2010 Ok, I finally have accumulated enough money for a PSP! It's been a long run, but I have finally done it. I also have enough money to purchase BBS. I might get the God of War bundle at the suggestion of Nathano333, but I will look into my decisions. But now to the point, I am at a crisis. I can't decide whether I should get the American Birth by Sleep or Birth by Sleep Final Mix! Here are my arguments for getting one or the other: Birth by Sleep (American): Pros: ~It has English text, so that means easier game play and Start menu navigation, etc. ~It is already out, so I can get it right away. ~I am not sure if BBSFM can do multiplay with the American BBS game, so getting this would be preferable if I want to play with other people. Cons: ~I will miss out on all the awesome Boss fights and features added into the Final Mix version. Birth by Sleep Final Mix: Pros: ~I will get to play all the awesome features of the game without having to buy a Japanese PSP Cons: ~I have to wait for it to come out. ~I don't know if some of the locations of Stickers will be changed or not, and same as other things, but I guess it would do me good to find them on my own. ~I don't know how I will deal with the Japanese Text. ~ I might not be able to do multi play with other people, but I can live with out it. Yeah, it seems things are leaning towards getting the American version, but I still want the Japanese Version. Perhaps I could get some good advice about this? Kishira 2,854 Posted December 26, 2010 You won't be able to play with friends if you have FM, at least I'm pretty sure you won't be able to; there are some new commands in FM, and I'm pretty sure they won't show in the international version. .w. Also considering the new Arena Modes as well, which is why I would assume that it isn't possible.
heartless101 83 Posted December 26, 2010 I think you should get BBS FM. You could use a translator online to translate the commands from Japanese to English and also you would get to fight No Heart and Master Eraqus' Lingering Sentiment

Keyblader 325 Posted December 26, 2010 BOTH!!! Which means an extra $40-ish that I probably won't have lol.
Tsunamo 62 Posted December 26, 2010 Personally I think you should wait for Final Mix, the sticker locations wont change, at worse they'll add a few more but they wont change 'em. The game has English voice acting for every cutscene ba the new ones, so you can understand what's happening. As for the Japanese commands and that i'm pretty sure Gamefaqs has a translation guide. It might take a little more effort to play and understand, but the extra features probably outweigh having English text in the game, but then again that's just my opinion. Yeah, I'm very grateful for the English Voices in the Final Mixes, aside from most of the newly added cutscenes and things like that.
Sora96 17,256 Posted December 26, 2010 You could just get both. It's probably best if you play the English version first. That way when you play Birth by Sleep Final Mix you will know what to do. And you wont have to use a translation guide as much.

Well, I'll take a look at all my options.
Kishira 2,854 Posted December 26, 2010 Overall, it depends on your preferences, if you really want to be able to play with friends, get the NA version; if not, you could wait for FM, maybe go on youtube and watch the NA walkthrough so you get and idea of what cammand does what so you do go in blind to FM, saving you from having to buy both. ^ ^

Nweintraub 630 Posted December 26, 2010 Hey! I know this guy on youtube who managed to turn most of the japanese texts in Kingdom Hearts II final mix+ into english! I wonder if he'll be able to pull the same thing off, but this time, with Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix?
Nweintraub 630 Posted December 26, 2010 How 'bout you get the american version first, & not get final mix until you fully get used to it.

J. Severe 1,137 Posted December 26, 2010 You got a PSP? Lucky; I'm still scrounging for money to purchase one. Anyway, as numerous other people said, it's all about your preferences. If you just to play with your friends, and not deal with Japanese stuff, plus have everything English and simple & clean (ooh, look, a reference!) then get Birth by Sleep. But if you're a completist and you want those extra bosses and new cutscenes, then Birth by Sleep Final Mix is the one for you. Make the right choice, my son... *fades into the distance*
