Weedanort 8,786 Posted December 21, 2010 I've been playing the drums since I was a little kid. 7 years to be exact. I'm part of a rock band, an orchestra and a classic band. We go to many places with the orchestra, we even went to Spain! With the classic band, I've been playing around villages. And with the rock band... well we still didn't go far. The question is: Should I enter a school only for musicians? It would be nice to work my entire life with other musicians, all the people say that I'm a great musician, I always have good grades in the music tests and I just love music! Not just hearing, but playing too! The feeling that you performed good, the feeling of many people watching and hoping for a good show, and also for chilling out, there are many reasons why I love music! You could say that it's the thing I love to do over anything else. What you think?
Zexion's_Lover_46 76 Posted December 21, 2010 Well if you love it more then anything else then I say go for it brother. What have you got to lose? ^_^
Stardustblade358 806 Posted December 21, 2010 If music is your passion and you love it.You should go.Go for it.Like Reikon said. What have you got to lose?
Amon 4,279 Posted December 21, 2010 You should go for it. Just make sure you have a solid and reasonable plan B. Becoming a professional musician is one thing or another. You will either be extremely successful and make thousands, or flop. But music school should be providing you with the skills necessary for a plan B. But if you really want to, do it! I wish you great success
Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted December 21, 2010 You do orchestra? Wow, that's pretty neat. Anyways, I think if music is your passion, you should go to that school. But like Fred said, make sure you have a back up plan as well, just in case music doesn't work out for you.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted December 21, 2010 @Zexion's Lover 46 and Stardustblade358 Well, I don't have anything to lose... So yeah. @Fredfredbug4 and SK3 You're both right. I should have a plan B. The problem is that I'm only good in music. But I'm also good at acting in theatres. Does that count for plan B?
SavageNymph 7 Posted December 21, 2010 I think you should enter a school for the arts, tbh (: You say you're also good at acting as well so I think that counts for something. Therefore if music backfires, you still have drama behind you. But if that backfires, you need another "Plan B", like a normal school. Leave other doors open to you but keep music in main focus :') But do whatever you want to do, it's your life, your passion, your choice ?

Getting an acting job could even be harder than being successful in music. You have to be good at something that is academic, otherwise you wouldn't have made it this far. Sorage55 10 Posted December 22, 2010 If you have the oppritunity to do so, do it. Play every song with a passion, allow every beat from your heart channel through your God-blessed drumsticks and onto the drum itself. If it is your passion, your soul, your pounding heart beat driving the beat of your own instrument then so let it be. Join the school, and show the world your heart beat. Naminé15 0 Posted December 23, 2010 come on! Go there and chase after your dream (we all have dreams, but dreams exist not only to color lives, but also to come true someday and make us really happy. Your life may look very hard to any of us (people), but if you are doing what ou like, then, you feel different, 'cause what others call difficult is what you call perfect (and if you ever feel it is too much to handle, go on, untill you have killed all the beasts in your way; or do what Fredfredbug4 said and skip to plan B ). And, as Fredfredbug4 said, your plan B must be something less uncertain than music (maybe your passion for acting could lead you to something that works with public itself, not on stage, but on other areas such as publicity [art of creativity to penetrate people's minds to try to control their opinions]. ---------- I think this coment made you even more confused than you were before you posted, I'm really sorry, it's cause I find it difficult to expres my opinions... i'm sorry
