Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 It would be so cool if Sora grows out of this

Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 and that depending so much on other people can be toxic
.sora_editz 0 Posted December 12, 2023 Since it looks like he'll be doing things soloBut it could changeA game where Sora is alone while everyone else is somewhere else looking for him
Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 Sora reminds me a lot of kids or young adults who still rely too much on their parents
.sora_editz 0 Posted December 12, 2023 Yea, they could change that in KH4And I hope they do
Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 coincidentally TWEWY had similar themes and the writer is currently helping NomuraI hope she can be a positive influence on the character writing
Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 TWEWY had a similar case with Neku but it was the opposite. Neku was mostly only caring about himself which is the other extreme on this spectrum

Snakeskin94 13 Posted December 12, 2023 You CAN tell serious stories with them and in fact there exist themPeople can't take them seriously not cause the stories aren't serious but because people can't see past them being cartoon characters- that's on the people, not the characters. Liftea 12 Posted December 12, 2023 In some cases being cartoony or lighthearted can even help the writing to make certain scenes even more impactful due to the contrast between a serious scene and the usual moodit's one of the reasons why I love KH1 so much
Snakeskin94 13 Posted December 12, 2023 Chain of Memories tooNomura even said in an interview for that game that "the Disney characters fit in very naturally to the darker story this time."

Exactly. The idea that a serious story is adult just isn’t true

KH-Queen 13 Posted December 12, 2023 Honestly, people who say that serious stories are only made for adults are quite frankly dumbasses to me
Sam N 10 Posted December 12, 2023 People who say otherwise clearly don't understand Disney history very wellWalt was well known for getting serious and dramatic when the plot called for it. Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are great examples of that. The best example, however? No joke? Education For Death Seriously, that short does a fantastic job portraying the pure evil of the Nazis.Even beyond that, Pluto's Judgment Day. In that short, Pluto very nearly goes on trial for chasing cats and very nearly goes to hell, with the only thing stopping him being the fact that it's a dream. In more modern times, we have A Goofy Movie: a very down-to-earth film about the relationship between Goofy and his son. dairyprods#0 4 Posted December 13, 2023 The fact Sora wakes up on a couch implies that either 1. Strelitzia walked in one day to a random 16 year old dude just on her couch all of a sudden 2. Strelitzia found some random 16 year old asleep somewhere and dragged him back to her apartment and put him on the couch
Sam N 10 Posted December 13, 2023 I highly doubt Strel dragged him back singlehandedly, so...that means Sora just kinda crashed on her couch like a hobo.
