KHDays KHDays - A Sad game? (maybe)

I just finished playing khdays for the second run through, and after playing it a second time, it hit me on how sad the game is. This is mostly due to playing other games where the villains often get what's coming to them, like Bowser(Mario), Eggman (Sonic), Xemnas (KH2), I'm sure you get the point. To me its the game closest to making me shed a few tears due to what happened in the story. (and no I didn't shed any tears.) But would KHDays be included as one of the most, if not THE most, saddening game that you have played.

well... It's like, the only game I've played, so yeah, it was the saddest game I ever played. I only didn't cry because I got spoiled before I even HAD the game.

fool.well, I didn't care for Xion much. I already played kh2, so I knew what was goimg to happen. It takes me a lot to make me cry. Me being a Nobody and all.

I give you that. I've had my moments with tears from laughter. there are a handful of games, movies and shows out there that will make you cry out of laughter, haha, in which there should be more of.

pfft, I didn't find 358/2 Days to be sad actually. I mean I did find Xion's "death" kinda depressing, but not so much. Other than that, nothing else seemed sad to me.

In my opinion i took Days to be one of the most depressing games in the series next to BBS because the overall tone of the game itself was depressing because you knew what it would amount to.

BbS was alot more saddening than Days. It almost felt like they wanted me to feel sorry for AkuRoXi; I was kinda sorta when watching it online, but after playing it, I just cringed at how horribly Xion's va did to pay attention to the sad. .w.

i like the story of this game because you can feel the characters and what emotions (or what they think they have as emotions) the characters have.i didnt cry or anything like that though. just... wow.

i admit it was really side because they showed the threes relationships with each other (axel, xion, and roxas) and then it all fell apart. i didnt shed a tear but my friend told me she did

Well let's look at it: both BBS and Days were sad games. Spoiler alerts for those who have not played these games yet.

In Days, Xion "dies", Roxas leaves the organization and get's knocked out by Riku and deals with a lot of anguish, and Axel's best friend leaves the organization.

It could very well be the saddest game.

It's the story when sora is sleeping getting his memories reconnected so this is roxas' story line...i mean he didnt know what to do or what he likes, and the vacation day is a great example, Hmm...what do i like.......-thinks-....Ice Cream.

The only other time tears have appeared while playing was when I'd been playing for way too long and my eyes started stinging.

Days was a sad game.I cried at Xion's death and foward,and even more in the end of the credits.In Days I became more attached to the character then in other games and it showed just a deep friendship that in the end it was all worthless and a bit forgotten,since Xion was no more and her memories were faded from Roxas' and Axel's memories and Roxas left the organization.Leaving Axel with the lost of two friends who he cared for really.Especially Roxas.

Days wasn't sad at all for me.I didn't like Xion and didn't like game in general.There only couple games that made me sad or depressed like MGS 3 that was sad but i never cried playing videogame

YEs KH358/2 days, in my opinion, it's a sad game. But it's sad, depending if you decide if it's sad or not.

I cried during Xion's death, but my cousin didn't shed a tear.

So it depends if you think it's a sad game or not.

I find that Days and Birth by Sleep were the saddest games in the Kingdom Hearts series. (Spoilers forth mentioned KH

games will follow this sentence).

 

Birth by Sleep was downright depressing (and I haven't even played it). None of them had an ending that was even close to happy. Ven's in a coma after what is essentially battling and destroying part of him self; Terra was possessed by a creepy old dude who is to blame for almost every bad that happens to him and his friends, and to Sora and his friends; and Aqua fell into the realm of darkness to save a friend who proceeded to become a psychopath (Xehanort) who then became two psychopaths (Ansem SoD and Xemnas). Now, don't tell me that is not saddening or even depressing.

 

358/2 Days, when looking at the big picture, is also quite sad. Xion was created to copy Roxas's power and to keep Sora from waking up. She then proceeds to become friends with the one she was supposed to drain of power, Roxas, and then Axel, who tries to keep there friendship together. The Organization tries to force Xion and Roxas against each other. Xion and Roxas want to know who they are, but can never get a straight answer. Axel, even though he tries to keep the friendship together, fails miserably and actually is one of the causes the friendship falls apart. Xion realizes what her purpose is and attacks Roxas, fully intending to lose. Roxas, now having turned his back on Axel and lost Xion, utters the words that he has been mocked for "But who will I have Ice Cream with?" The sad thing is, he is truly asking "who will I be friends with" because he has now lost both of his friends. He said "who will I have ice cream with" because that is what he associates with friendship, eating ice-cream, and that is what he believes friendship is. (Thanks, by the way, to whoever first helped me realize this, I believe they were on these forums. This opened my eyes and changed my out look on that scene entirely.) Then as Roxas tries to get his revenge, Riku comes along and stops him, while having to sacrifice himself and take on the appearance of Ansem SoD. Roxas is then locked in a virtual reality, with his memory altered so he forgets everything that has happened to him. Now, that is also quite depressing.

 

That's not to say the other games weren't sad (though KH II wasn't, except for a few scenes, such as when we think Goofy is dead and when Ansem's machine explodes) but Days and BbS where definitely the saddest, with BbS reigning supreme.

I hate Xion for making Roxas cry. She was utterly useless...other than another obstacle in the way of letting Sora wake up...which I did not want. He turned into a jerk in KH2. Why couldn't he stay the cool KH1 version? WHY?

I found it pretty sad towards the end, but Birth by Sleep really pulled my strings when it comes to a KH game being sad.
