Dude... you're over-analyzing it. The connection between Roxas and Ven is Sora (and the fact that Ven's Heart created Roxas after Sora removed it in Hollow Bastion). yea but i think he might meant that Axel might have remembered a boy who looked like Roxas (Ven) and that may have been how Axel became quick friends with Roxas. atleast thats what i thought me meant.

He's not gonna remember Ventus all that well, if at all. He became friends with Roxas because he was assigned to watch him over two weeks or so, and it sort of grew from there, because unlike the rest of the Org. XIII, Roxas actually cared about Axel due to his complete cluelessness and the presence of Ven's heart, which is the only thing that makes Roxas look like Ventus, by the way, he doesn't share any memories, and Ven's heart isn't active within him, it's just sort of, there.

Everyone knows he is obviously talking about Xion and Roxas, there isn't any doubt about that. But notice how he said that? A "real one". He is referring to how Roxas has ties with Ventus. I'm pretty sure no one knows that Roxas has a heart, but Saix was referring to how Axel, during when he was actually Lea, befriended Ventus. And seeing how Roxas bore the appearance of Ventus, Saix was basically saying that Axel/Lea's friendship with Ventus could 'continue'. Also, since this could obviously be shot down by "Axel doesn't remember that." Well notice his reaction to when Saix says "Which would you rather suffer the loss of? Some make-believe friendship, or a real one?" Axel's reaction shows that he obviously knew what Saix was talking about.

 

True though about what you said, Roxas resembling Ventus probably wasn't the full reason why Axel befriended Roxas. Like you said, it also might have had to do with the fact that Roxas bore Ventus' heart inside him, giving him emotions, which in turn, for some reason, caused Axel to feel like he had a heart.

Well, think about it, if Xion dies, no one remembers, if Roxas dies, then they do.

Xion doesn't really exist, while Roxas, to a point, does. That's what Saix is referring to, Xion was viewed as just a tool to be used, while Roxas is, to a certain extent, a functioning human being.

There is absolutely no reason for Saix or Axel to remember some kid they met on the street over a decade before, nor do they make any other reference to it. You'd think that'd be a given, 'You remind me of this guy I once knew', but Axel makes no reference to Ventus, nor does he see Xion as Ventus either, like Xigbar does, which he would if he remembered him.
