Razorwind Keyblade 304 Posted May 28, 2011 Yeah, levelling up gets you abilities before Goofy even teaches you about abilities BTW, you can get infinite exp by fighting Selphie, and attacking when she uses her jump attack. She'll get knocked back for 1 , then her jump rope will land on her head for another exp, but it's impossible to beat her this way, so you can do it forever. To be quite honest with you, I have never beat Selphie. But I'm not really interested in beating her anyway.
Nami nom noms 0 Posted May 29, 2011 I have beaten everything in Kingdom Hearts before, except for that boss at neverland, which I never got round to doing for some reason. As for levelling up before you get the keyblade... It's the FASTEST way to level up until you reach the Tarzan world. All you need to do is fight Tidus, but don't attack him. Run away and he'll run after you. As soon as he does this, stop. turn around. and attack him once. He will swipe at you also and the attack will be parried and earn you 2xp points. Then immediately run again and repeat. So long as you never hit him, you can keep this going for hours until you are any level you wish. I usually stop at level 12, which takes about 1.5 hours (much quicker then going through the worlds fighting heartless), which is a good level to be able to beat cloud comfortably. The only time I hit tidus is when he gets tired and stands around... then I'll run in, clonk him ONCE on the head, which sets him off again, and then repeat the process. Well anyway, when I do my next walktrough of KH1 I will use this to help me.
Nami nom noms 0 Posted May 29, 2011 Don't you mean the Phantom? Well anyway, when I do my next walktrough of KH1 I will use this to help me. Yeah the phantom lol, I faced it the first time, got owned. Read a guide on it and would have faced it eventually (after all the other things) but I never got round to that boss again. Feel free to use this tip in a guide; the beauty of it is that at this level you can go straight from wonderland to tarzan jungle, and get the cure spell before you fight cerberus! hatok 6,413 Posted June 6, 2011 Uhh... after you get the keyblade you can take out 2 Shadows for 2 EXP... that's kinda a lot faster than anything in Destiny Islands...
Nami nom noms 0 Posted June 6, 2011 Uhh... after you get the keyblade you can take out 2 Shadows for 2 EXP... that's kinda a lot faster than anything in Destiny Islands... Actually, it's not. It takes roughly 3 hits to kill any shadow. everytime you do that's 1 . 2 takes you 6 hits. thats about 2 in 5 seconds at a good pace. By parrying Tidus, you can do this at least 3 times in 5 seconds. Each parry is worth 2 . 3 times the in the same amount of time, not to mention you can carry on indefinately, without any need to search for more enemies when you've killed them all. And of course, there are other benefits too!
OblivionRider 50 Posted June 6, 2011 I could never beat Riku (race/battle) or the three of them together. I came back 5 years later and creamed them. Go figure.

They're usually in clumps, so you can hit most of them at once, and provided you didn't give up the sword at the start you can usually start one-hitting shadows before long as well. Also, shadows are just the basic heartless, the others tend to give more. Also, you can get items by defeating heartless, which is a benefit.

Also, shadows are just the basic heartless, the others tend to give more. Also, you can get items by defeating heartless, which is a benefit. I agree with you on some points, but: A. It's too inconsistant to rely on hitting multiple enemies at once. Even in the highest concentration of enemies (the gizmo shop) you can never hit enough of them consistantly to match the speed of Tidus parrying. You would need to kill a group of 4 shadows roughly every 2 and a half seconds to MATCH the speed. This is not really practical (nor really possible, but let's talk theory) AND you would need to leave and re-enter an area everytime you run out of enemies, eating up a bit more time. B. While you can one-shot shadows, it is not for a LONG time after. Even leaving the islands at level 15 you cannot 1 shot shadows, so levelling up quickly at the beginning does not help the speed of shadows either. C. other heartless do give much more , but they are also longer/harder to kill. Additionally you don't even meet other kinds of heartless until halfway through traverse town, and when they appear they still only give you 2 (the knights). Again this is far, far slower then the Tidus method. D. If you still have doubts, why not try both methods? I guarantee you'll reach a high level much faster with Tidus then grinding or even racing through the story.

superbanana 230 Posted June 18, 2011 waka is the best person to fight on the island to level up so i fought him like 50 times and eventually got the hang of it. if you hit his balls (the ones he throws) with your sword (the weapon you use made of wood) you level up really fast
Rodman 22 Posted June 28, 2011 They made that race hard on purpose, if you made one mistake you would lose. The race was rigged.

Sora's Baby 729 Posted September 27, 2011 I always lost to Riku. o.o In the race...in the optional fight... always... o.o The first time I played, I was like "THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!" But then after a few times I'd had to go through with it - it became extremely easy. hahaha. I beat Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie as well (although all three at once are hard - I did it) and I beat the optional Leon in Traverse Town. That makes me LOL when Sora passes out anyways. I all way hated tht race.

Weiss 8,279 Posted March 18, 2013 I found the race challenging when I knew nothing about where to go but once I actually knew some of the paths it was pretty easy.
