No it's Xehanort's parent's faults. They gave birth to the the person who cause all of this. Protection is what they needed.

 

In all seriousness, it is Xehanort's fault for pretty much everything. But he is the main antagonist of the series. That's why the Kingdom Hearts series is called the Xehanort Saga (that and Nomura's making a brand new series of it, which I'll be pretty happy if I got to see what it was like...)

If you look at it in the big picture, it's all xehanort until the final battle at the Keyblade Graveyard. If ven didn't show up, terra wouldn't have lost to xehanort, the x-blade wouldn't have been forged, and apprentice xehanort wouldn't have been made.
