Most surprising moment

What's surprised you most when playing through any of the games in the series? Gameplay wise, not storywise.

For me, doing Terra's story on Proud in Birth by Sleep and one-shotting Peter Pan with a shotlock.

I'm not sure about surprises necessarily for gameplay, but BBS confuses me often. I just finished a platinum run for the first time (not a big fan of the gameplay so it was a trek, but that's beside the point) and there were spots were the damage scaling made no sense to me.

So I guess one surprise though in that vein was getting to Villain's Vendetta with Ventus after just obliterating every match in Mirage Arena before that, only to find that suddenly I was doing chip damage to every one of the bosses. So I left and came back after gaining only two levels I think? Boom, all the bosses die in a few uses of Lightning Ray shotlock. Really don't understand why a couple levels makes that much of a drastic difference in the game and kind of think its an annoying development choice, but oh well. Got the platinum anyways haha.

The lucky emblems in KHIII!

I saw one and thought "Hahah it's Mickey! Is this an easter egg? It's cute." then bam all of a sudden it's an infestation throughout the game. Mickey shapes everywhere.

That's a really hard question. I guess probably just how hard overall I felt kh1 was- It was one of the last games of the series I actually played, and I had a lot more trouble with everything in it than any of the other games. The fact that I got stuck on the mob rush before the Final Rest on Proud Mode and had to replay the entire game on standard speaks for itself ?

Hmmmm, hard to say honestly, it's been a long while since I wasn't pretty darn familiar with all of the surprises.

 

But I'd have to say prooobably

Ventus Larxene and Marluxia all being from a period so ancient. Like, out of all the characters to link so closely, didn't really expect that, happy as I was to have Larxene return.

Agree. Lucky emblems was way good for me

Remind and khux for sure surprised me the most out of the whole series

Honestly, there's plenty of memorable gameplay surprises. 

For me, one of the most recent is actually having been able to beat Yozora. That dude's a monster! XD
