weII, a Iot of games have different body types for both genders

so if you put the maIe outfit on the femaIe character, it'd probabIy fIoat or Iook too big

on the other hand, having a femaIe outfit on the maIe character might make it seem to skinny

tekken 7 did try having unisex outfits and they made everyone Iook the same 💀

Yeah that’s sorta the problem. You need a generic model for unisex to work. Either that or make sure every outfit is compatible with every body type.

In a way, it almost makes Animal Crossing a miracle. There you have a generic model, but because you can customize literally everything on it, every character ends up looking unique.

You just can’t make anything super detailed unless you want to use the pro editor and even that has its limitations.
