I personally don't mind it in AC

I did like the character arc with the geostigma and all that

See I was fine with AC because (and this is partially.cope I know). It actually made sense.

Depression related relapses happen, and, now that he had down time, I'm sure Aeirths death and Zack weighed on him and, then he got sick.

Plus at the end, he's happy! And he's ready to move on
