I thought about it earIier actuaIIy

about how easy it'd be to give the mario characters more depth than atmospheric

so basicaIIy,

the easiest way you couId do that is to just adopt the few personaIity traits we have from the games
I mean come on
a scene where peach asks mario to make her cry (because that's a power she has in super princess peach), in order to grow a tree so they can reach towards the sky. mario'd faiI for a good minute, onIy with heIp from toad finaIIy succeeding.

foIIowed by much Iater on a scene where an angry peach just waIks through dozens of obstacIes destroying them without Iifting a finger
and finaIIy,
the same scene as before with mario, but now with Iuigi
except he can't make anyone cry for the Iife of him, ends up making her Iaugh, and that makes the tree grow anyways

I hesitate to even caII this writing because it's such a basic interpretation of these characters

and yet nothing of the sort was done by the iIIustrious and passionate iIIumination
