I hope similar difficulty to Malenia doesn't mean only 1 mechanic

because Malenia was poorly designed

but knowing miyazaki they have probably statistics regarding the deaths + watched streamers playing the game

I feel like if 90% of the deaths from everyone I watched comes from waterfoul dance then that's in my opinion poorly designed

it's literally only this one mechanic that makes the fight hard

all other mechanics in the fight are more reasonable than waterfoul dance

it feels very out of place

imo in comparison to some of the most memorable bosses like Orphan of Kos or Artorias they dropped the ball so hard on Malenia

in terms of the balance regarding the difficulty of the boss mechanics

malenia is super easy as a caster btw

phase 2 basically doesn't exist

because you can burn her down during the animation lag of her first jump

Miyazaki also mentioned Bloodborne btw

and fan demand

they are probably gonna remake it for the ps6

because in the interview he pointed out that they know about many people loving bloodborne

my first bloodborne playthrough was so embarrassing

I died more to micolash than any other boss in the basegame

because I couldn't comprehend the fight design

fun fact: Upper Cathedral Ward scared me more than horror games I almost pissed in my pants because it was so scary due to the atmosphere

I'll be honest I never bought into the whole "Souls games are always 100% fair and if you fail its 100% on you."

That is a myth, lmao, ok? I don't buy into that.

But Malenia genuinely felt "firetruck you" levels of unfair.

some of the difficulty spikes in Elden Ring were just bizarre. Waterfoul dance is one of them

but in From Softwares defense

the game is also way more ambitious

than a dark souls 3

just because of the size of the world

the issue is the other games had better superbosses than this in terms of difficulty balance.

and also in general a better balance in difficulty

but I already expected this before Elden Ring even launched

Elden Ring is also the first From Software game where I experienced during the discourse that people should have a certain value in terms of vigor before they go in a lategame story area

the difficulty becomes so bizarre in mountain of the giants

despite all the issues the game is probably still their best work

the set pieces are just incredible

I might remain silent for the foreseeable future. I've been dealing with nothing but BS for the last several weeks and A LOT of toxic a-holes. Trying to cut out all toxicity in the Discord servers I'm in (don't worry not this one obviously lol). Might restructure the way I say things but I also don't really want to change who I am just because 95% of people hate the shit I say. So yeah. There you go. Take this however you want. Sorry.

I can't criticize them because it will spread negativity and if it spreads negativity it will make From Software look bad and if they look bad and people start to hate them they are gonna lose money and they won't be able to make Bloodborne Remake. RoxasExcite but after the remake is done... seasalt_shinji
