Also compounded with that is, they're trying to find 'a formula'

They're obsessed with it, I always knew when they said "we're focused on standalone films" that was really code for "we're looking for a films head that will let us do dank crossover shit".

Their standalone movies do good, but, they don't want to just do sub franchises forever; they can't either- they'll cannibalize themselves.

Can you imagine what it'd be like if the Arrowverse, Gothamverse, DCEU, with* the new The Batman'verse *and the new Joker'verse at the same time? It'd be more of a firetrucking mess

That's not getting into the like 3 different animated continuities, and the 2 video game ones

Yeah its so weird- know how everyone says DC skipped their phase one all together? Well it's like they did a weird like Phase 2 and 3/4, and now when they should BE on a phase 2, maybe 3, they're basically where Marvel is at on Phase 4

eh, i think there's a bit of a difference. it's definitely an issue in comics, no argument there. but comics tend to be a more niche type of media, while movies are much more accessible to the mainstream audience. that means it's especially important to properly balance the interconnectedness between "what the fans want from an adaptation" and "what your average moviegoer will be able to handle"

Thoughts on Banjo Kazooie as a first time player:

-Grunty’s Lair is very confusing to navigate but I’m glad there’s secrets in it
-Note score system is pure evil. Collecting all 100 notes is a hefty task in itself but the fact that all notes respawn on death AND your note count resets to zero is firetrucking unreasonable. This essentially makes it so you have to complete all the notes in a single run and that’s a pretty tall order for the average player.
-Adding to this frustration is the fact that notes are mandatory to progress and the note quotas get stricter as you go.
-I like that moves are learned throughout the game so as not to overwhelm you with new mechanics straight out the gate.
-Taking damage for losing a minigame is bullshit (looking at you, Mr Vile)
