It's basically an mobile emulator, but it's not like cheating or hacking.

I still think they're deliberately holding it off until around the 20th anniversary to make a bigger announcement (something something KHUX/Dark Road remake for consoles). Assuming they have already written the story (which I'm 99% sure they have), it wouldn't take them long to actually implement it into the game, from a technical standpoint.

There's no reason for them to take this long unless there's something more to it.

And even if it's not an outright remake, there is definitely something brewing over there that relates to this excruciatingly long delay.

That makes a lot of sense and I assume is the reason why we haven't gotten anything when it comes to Dark Road. If anything, Nomura might actually release the final chapters of it on the anniversary so we have something to keep us distracted while we wait for April 10th!
