so they are indeed a canonical thing

so canonically sora has oathkeeper in kh2 technically the entire time if he wanted to

eh maybe, but then again the keychain thing is a factor that plays into bbs characters upgraded keyblades so who knows

also i think there was originally an animation in kh3 where sora switched the keychains on his keyblade to switch them

which also must mean drive forms are canon

honestly i generally think most of what happens in gameplay is canon to the characters

in gameplay it always feels like sora is absorbing goofy into himself to transform in kh2
