PlayStation Blog has released their yearly Game of the Year Awards and Kingdom Hearts III has placed in 4 different categories. Each category is broken up into 4 places (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze [in the style of PlayStation Trophies]) as well as honorable mentions. The categories that Kingdom Hearts III placed in are as follows:

  • Best Role-Playing Game - Platinum
  • Best Soundtrack - Gold
  • Best PS4 Game - Sliver
  • Best Narrative - Bronze

This is the second year that Kingdom Hearts III was featured for the Awards. Last year the game was the Most Anticipated Game.

Kingdom Hearts III was my personal game of the year. I understand some people didn't have their expectations met, but I thought it was amazing. Re Mind looks like it will add quite a bit to this already amazing game as well, so I'm excited for that in January.

Glad someone feels the same way I do. Wish this game could've gotten more recognition at the game awards, but that doesn't mean it isn't still a great game!

I'm glad that Kingdom Hearts III is getting some recognition.  I'm a bit disappointed that it was only "Gold" and not "Platinum" for "Best Soundtrack", but I'm happy that it placed in four categories, especially that it was "Platinum" for "Best Role-Playing Game".  I honestly wasn't expecting it to do this well.
