I was just reading about the Mughal or Mogal empire. Having heard the name, pronounced exactly like Moogle, I wondered if that's where the idea for moogles came from. Looking into it, the Mughal empire was responsible for about 22% of the world economy, with the only country ahead of it being China. So i think it's pretty clear that the moogles were based on this ancient economic superpower.

Anyways, thought that was pretty cool and decided to share it with you.
