Namine blinked. she'd never even heard of these places before. Hollister? Aeropastale? She'd never gone shopping for clothes a day of her life. Well this was awkward...

 

"U-um...wherever you think would be the best really. It's fine." She said quickly, covering up for her lack of knowledge on the subject of brands.

Cloud shrugged. He guessed that he was just shy and didn't want to say anything. "Well, we'll go to Aeropostale then. The clothes you hve on are from there so yeah. I figure you'll like those." He said, smiling and sitting back.

Namine nodded, giving a sigh of relief. Then that's where they'd go. She examined the passengers in the car and felt blush blooming across her cheeks. They were all to kind to her.

 

"Thank you."

Zack laughed, still looking at the road.

"Namine, you say that too much. At least three times I bet. Anyway, we're your friends now. We'll take care of you." Cloud shook his head in disagreement.

 

"We're her family."

Namine felt her eyes soften at that and she bit her lip, the words touching her heart. She looked out the window in order to hide the tears spilling just slightly out of her brilliant blue eyes. But they weren't sad tears, they were happy ones. She gave a small laugh, smiling and closing her eyes as she thanked her parents and God watching over her. Namine had never been happier.

Roxas frowned when he saw her. "Hey, Namine? Are you...crying..?"

 

Quickly Zack and Cloud turned around. Their faces had worried expressions... "Namine, are you okay?" Cloud asked, already trying to wipe her tears away. They were all so brotherly towards her but they didnt know why...

Namine gently pushed their hands away, smiling as she shook her head. They cared...so much for her. She couldn't fathom why but she was eternally thankful.

 

"N-no, it's okay." Despite the tears still sliding down her cheeks no matter how many times she wiped them away, she turned to them and smiled. "They're tears of joy."

Cloud looked surprised but then laughed a bit. "Namine, it's okay. There's actually nothing to cry for. We're just trying to help you out and take care of you. You're like a sister to us."

 

Roxas agreed, taking Namine's hand in his. "Don't worry a bit! We'll make sure that when Demyx sees you, You'll look like an Angel!"

Namine laughed a bit, drying her eyes as she held Roxas' hands back, nodding. She knew that if Demyx could see her now he'd think she'd look pretty the way she was. But pretty wasn't good enough, she wanted to make herselflook like an Angel like Roxas said. She couldn't believe how lucky she was to have them all.

 

"I-I'm going to have to owe you so many favors." She joked, shaking her head.

"Of course!" Roxas joked.

As they entered the first store, Cloud and Zack went to the food court to buy lunch for later. Roxas was now stuck with Namine.

"So Namine, just pick anything you like!"He instructed.

Namine looked around, awe crossing her features at all the clothes she saw. Every color, style, and price was imaginable. A lovely, ice blue cardigan with a white dress underneath caught her eyes immediately, her heart latching on to it. She gingerly took it off the rack. Her size to. But when she saw the price tag, well, that was the end of that. $250 was to much for that, she decided, looking for something simpler. The blond soon found though that everything was in that price range here. She turned to Cloud, shaking her head.

 

"All this costs way to much, I could never ask you to buy this for me."

( A shirt. For $250? I'd cry if I had to buy that.)

 

Cloud smiled at her and patted her head. He removed his hand and bent down to her level. "Look, Namine. We really like you. All of us. It doesn't matter how high that number is, we'll buy it for you. We're your family!" Cloud smiled brightly at her and stood up straight to ruffle her hair.

Naming looked at Cloud hesitantly, smiling as he ruffled her hair. Already she felt as if he really were an elder brother to her.

 

"I...alright. Well, I do really like this dress." The blond admitted, picking the dress back up carefully, enjoying how soft the material of the cardigan fet on her fingertips. It really was a pretty outfit. Plus, she was sure Demyx would love it. And shed like to see a smile on his face after not seeing him for so long. "But it's still so much money. You're sure this is okay?"

Cloud smiled and took the dress from her grip gently. He laughed a bit and grinned. "I'm sure. Plus, I'm positive Demyx will love it!" He looked around for Zack and Roxas to find out what those two were up to. As always, Zack was telling Roxas on of his many adventures in SOLDIER. Cloud just smiled and left to pay for the dress.

Namine watched the male go to the register and then spotted the affectionate look he had shot at Zack. They must have been really happy together...Maybe...Maybe she and Demyx could be like that to.

 

"That'd be nice." she whispered softly, while looking aroubd the store. Her gaze locked onto a mirror and she hesitantly walked over to her reflection. Her skin was creamy and she thought a bit of color would be necessary. Blush maybe. And eyeshadow, her eyes looked dull...Namine spotted the sample make up and, from experience, applied just the right amount of foundation and blush and light eyeshadow. Good thing you didn't have to pay for the sample makeup. But regardless, she smiled. Now she felt pretty enough to see Demyx.

Cloud came back and smiled when he saw Namine. "Nice! You look pretty!" He whistled to get Zack's and Roxas' attention. "Let's go! Namine has to look her best!" Zack groaned and walked over to Cloud "But I was just getting to the good part~" He said, pouting. Cloud grinned and rolled his eyes slightly. "You can tell it later! Here, Namine." Cloud handed her the bag with her dress inside.

Namine took it carefully and laughed at Zack's reaction, thinking thoughtfully.

 

"Zack, maybe next time I could hear your story? I'd like to if that's okay..." She asked lightly, being sure to not sound to demanding as they left the store and made way through the parking lot. The day had gotten considerably warmer since the morning, the sun shining brighter than before and the sky a few hues bluer. Maybe this was a good sign. Maybe this meant that now, everything would be alright.

Zack smiled and nodded. "Sure! At bedtime though. Cloud over here doesn't want me filling your head with violence throughout the the day." Zack laughed and got into the car. Cloud and Roxas got in as well. Roxas looked at Namine. "We're gonna go back to the house and let you change. Then, we'll go see Dem." Roxas smiled.

Namine nodded, slipping into the back seat and holding her new dress close to her, like she was afraid it would disappear. Soon they were at Roxas' house, her new home, and she raced into the bathroom, changing out of her white nightgown to her new dress. Namine smiled. It fit her like a glove; perfectly. Smoothing out the wrinkles she carefully came down the grand steps, the boys coming into view. Namine actually felt beautiful.

When they all turned to look at her, their expressions changed simoultaneously. They all put on a happy, ecstatic face. "Namine..you're so pretty!" Roxas said. "Pretty? She looks amazing!" Zack replied. "Shut up guys, she looks the same as always. Beautiful." Cloud smiled.

Namine felt a bright smile spread across her lips and she blushed a bit at their responses, walking daintily infront of then. Even when she wasn't trying she was graceful.

 

"Thank you. You're all to sweet." She glanced up at Cloud, clasping her hands behind her back. "So should we go?" She asked hopefully, excitement pooling in her stomach. She was seeing Demyx again. Her kind, kind Demyx.

Cloud smiled at her. He shot a glance at Zack and motioned him out the door. Zack took the hint and ran out, tugging Roxas with him. "Sure Namine. I mean, he /is/ your boyfriend." Cloud laughed and walked out the door, locking it after Namine came outside also.

After a long car ride to the hospital filled with Roxas complaining about Axel and his constant habit of leaving his clothes everywhere, Cloud shooting a few: well doesn't that sound familiar, and Namine fumbling with her dress, they were finally at the room designated to Demyx. Namine's anxiety returned and her self esteem dropped to it's usual point. What if he doesn't like my dress? What if he blames me for everything? What if he hates me? Suddenly, it was all she could do. Worry.

Zack put a hand on Namine's shoulder when he saw how nervous she was getting. "Hey~. Calm down. I'm sure Dem will think you're perfect." Zack said, flashing a smile.

 

Demyx twitched a bit. He had been asleep for so long and was finally waking up. The brunette opened his eyes slowly but shut them quickly due to the sudden bright light of the sun. He rubbed his eyes and opened them again. He yawned and sat up in the hospital bed.

Namine glanced up at Zack, her blue eyes widened slightly. No one...had ever said that about her.

 

"...Perfect..." She repeated the word to herself in a soft whisper, nodding slightly before pushing the door open and glancing inside to see Demyx just waking up. He hadn't seen her yet. Taking a deep breath she gathered her courage and with the help of an encouraging nudge on her back from Roxas, she stepped in all the way. Namine couldn't help but smile when she saw the blond, still healthy and no where close to dying.

 

"Hey Demyx."
