animemylove 439 Posted March 3, 2019 Spoiler There's been a rant brewing in me ever since I finished KH3. Why are all the guardians so worthless to the plot of KH3? They succeeded in nothing .. NOTHING! Riku and Mickey; two master Keyblade wielders, our guardians of light, cream of the crop, failed to a heartless phallus. What point was there to having two "masters" going just to fail and have Sora come in and save everyone? .. And the stupid fodder hurricane, our heroes ALL died to that? .. Really? Yet they want to defeat Xehanort, who Aqua, Ventus and Terra .. 2 master level wielders and a Ventus could not defeat .. but he gets defeated by Sora anyway, alone? Why? Why have all these people here and not use them in the plot at all? other than Aqua, who I guess had to take Sora to save Ventus too. I think the pacing would've been 1000x better if Riku and Mickey succeeded in saving Aqua by themselves earlier in the game. Have a real area to explore in the RoD to save her and not just an arena. Sora probably didn't even have to be there to release Ven, just awaken his heart because the time was right and have Ven fending off the Org, while they tried to steal him for their 13 and THEN have Aqua come and save the day with like Axel and Kairi, because I still think Roxas merging into Ven would've been a lot more satisfying. Then just get rid of the fodder hurricane .. because it was terrible. And the reaper battle felt tedious .. and terrible .. and dumb. Oh and the princesses of Heart .. wheeeere were they? Didn't the org need them? why mention them? or go to their worlds? But yea, the story felt rushed and lazy. I'm pretty sure if Sora was alone he could've done everything himself since it was written that way, and the difficulty played that way. TiggerBooth 12 Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) Spoiler Everyone died from the massive heartless hurricane because they all just fought thousands of heartless, nobodies, and unversed. The Princesses of heart Spoiler were the back up if the 7 guardians didn’t show. They were just keeping tabs and studying the Princesses just in case. Riku and Mickey were holding their own against 3 members of the org. Each including the right hands of Xehanort. So doing that well on their own Sora showing up and tipping the scale makes sense. (In my mind that makes sense for all of those fights) (Sorry if this sounds aggressive! It’s not meant to!) I was a bit confused as to how Sora beat Xehanort but I have some head cannon thoughts that make it make sense to me ?♂️ Most of the story complaints for me aren’t problems. I mean even Donald out did all the other guardians with his zettaflare or w/e .. what does that say for everyone? The org team battles were probably the biggest saving grace for the whole game .. it was a bit easy, but all the cutscenes were great. And don't get me wrong, the outcome of everything is ok. One way or another I think we all saw these things happening, I just don't get why you have separate games starting to feature other characters and even make Riku seem Sora's equal .. his superior even in DDD, just to have them all stand back and accomplish nothing. Holding off enemies for Sora to get there shouldn't be acceptable at this point. Sure Riku and Mickey were able to hold off Org, but how then is a heartless tower even close to the power of 3 Org members? Sure the power of the heartless is stronger in the RoD but .. come on.
