Noleen#7811 3 Posted June 3 if you are late you should make it drag ? if you are early, lead ?
Snakeskin94 13 Posted June 3 It's kinda both that happen but I guess I'm early more often than late
Noleen#7811 3 Posted June 3 the game tells you iircif you are more late or earlyim bad ay these games anyway, once they start doing 3 things at the same time it's over

Icecl Keyheart 13 Posted June 3 What does the lag timer even do like I'm going up and down but I don't know what it actually affects what is plus and minus mean
Snakeskin94 13 Posted June 3 I can barely do easy mode on anything that isn't 1 button on Theatrythm 😭
Limen 10 Posted June 3 it adjusts the audio to match the gameplay essentially. lots of TVs are meant to view pretty shows first and game second, so a lot of them have bad latency/response time. for rhythm games, this means that pressing the button "on time" with the music will result in the game registering it "late" a lot of times. the offset slider adjusts for this situation and pushes the audio to be "on time" with the button presses again. most games response times are tiny enough to where you wouldn't notice it, but for rhythm games where every millisecond counts, its very important
Noleen#7811 3 Posted June 3 i tried replaying when they released the ffxvi songs but lost all my muscle memory it's so annoying... MoM was even harder to start again...
Limen 10 Posted June 3 After factoring in your monitor situation, you also have to consider your controllers. Bluetooth is inherently going to be ever so slightly delayed, but most games nowadays automatically adjust for that already when they detect a wireless controller being used. What it doesnt account for is signal strength or other wireless interference. if your console is 20 feet away from your controller and youve got other things like wifi routers and cell signals bouncing everywhere it could mess up your input timing, which you would also need to adjust for with the slider
Snakeskin94 13 Posted June 3 Like I've been doing fine enough to full chain a lot on MoM and get some All Excelents on songs in proud but- on tougher ones like the piano ones and especially ones with odd timings like the DDD songs it really shows itself for me.Aw firetruck that rightHey Limen what's harder as a rhythm game player-Actually playing the games?Or the set up? Limen 10 Posted June 3 i play most of my rhythm games on my PC monitor with 1ms response time with the console right next to my desk so i usually never have to tinker with syncMoM and FBL both run fine at 0 offset for me lol
Noleen#7811 3 Posted June 3 but you are a robot, it doesn't countwe have brain latency and finger latency and eyes latencyand the shoulder that start to itch in the middle of the song
Limen 10 Posted June 3 nah you just use your skill points to level those up over timei've lost so many good runs to itchy body parts 😭and sneezing
Snakeskin94 13 Posted June 3 But you aren't human in the first place so that isn't even fair 😭And if you say "Oh I know people better than me" you can keep it to yourself 😭😭😭

Icecl Keyheart 13 Posted June 3 I see I just wish I knew what was a good setting so like even if I'm still failing I can at least know it's a skill issue and not a genuine problem with the game. Makes it hard to enjoy it sometimes
Limen 10 Posted June 3 everyone's settings are going to be different, thats the point of the slider loland in MoM's case, there are multiple people who have maxed the entire game so it's definitely not a problem with the game, more likely your own hardware that you need to adjustnot to say MoM is perfect because there are definitely cases of some notes being mistimed, but thats a literal handful out of thousands of notes so
