I need to get something off my chest, this scene hurts me on a fundamental level

Like the story and memory Xehanort himself say Kairi has become quite skilled, while she is casually stopped by Xehanort multiple times during the fight by him just casually grabbing the Keyblade. She’s defeated only moments after Xehanort actually shows any real resistance, and it’s only SORA who can save the day, in kairi’s own mind!

It’s hard for me to even think of a positive thing from this besides some of kairi’s cooler attacks or skills we see her use here.

For a game that has almost no story, it manages to have one of the worst cutscenes in KH history

The bosses that make me physically react are Roxas,Marluxia,Xennas and Sephiroth all 4 of which are the kh2 bosses Roxas also causes me to cry because 1 the other promise or his boss music is so frickin sad and 2 the amount of times I died to him

Like how do you have a story inside of KAIRIS mind and have barely any Kairi in it?

They made these cute menu bumpers too and Kairis not in them

Like I know Melody of Memory is just a hold over game, and a rhythm game at that but it really feels like they ignored the entire premise

There’s this rhythm game called amplitude (2016) whose story follows a similar concept to melody of memory but executes it better in every conceivable way

Without even showing the characters either.

It used the music itself to tell the story
