ali3n.0bserv3r 6 Posted November 17, 2023 But what does that make Vanitas? You're just syaing there are different types.Which is great! Because it means Ddarkness as a concept is uber flexible, it's just.WHat is Vanitas because the way he tals about himself he doens't know what he is.It's great we have different types of Darknesses and darknesses, but it's unhelpful if we're trying to figure out what category Vanitas is, or is he's in one at all. Sam N 10 Posted November 17, 2023 I think Vanitas understands that he is darkness; he just doesn’t entirely grasp what it means to be darkness.
CharJanny 2 Posted November 17, 2023 but xehanort doesnt have a true darkness in him right?
ali3n.0bserv3r 6 Posted November 17, 2023 No, but he does align and use Darkness for a long time without getting corrupted which raises questions as to the strength of/make up of his Heart.
Snakeskin94 13 Posted November 17, 2023 I actually kinda like that it's left ambiguous if Xehanort controled darkness or if vice versa- there's evidence for bothMaybe control is the wrong word, but, like influence/tainted him further, I mean.
CharJanny 2 Posted November 18, 2023 he could resembles like the foretellers. they got darkness in them but not entirely been controlled by it. but their personalities is toward negative actionsand i would like to see the fortellers dark side resembling the seven deadly sinswhat about baldr? the darkness in him? is it a new new mid level darkness or is it somehow realted to the real darkness? Sam N 10 Posted November 18, 2023 I’m leaning towards the former. Ansem SOD could be argued to have simply been behaving like a super intelligent Heartless. He was hunting darkness just like a Shadow, but doing so in a much more elaborate manner.

ali3n.0bserv3r 6 Posted November 18, 2023 OH J CAN ANSWER THIS!!!So Hoder’s death is an accident, Helgi, Heimdall, and Sigrun were killed by Baldr while he was possessed, and everyone else is 100% on purpose.

KH Dandelion 0 Posted November 18, 2023 Old Nort may have controlled Darkness but he was still corrupted and twisted by it. His actions make that clear regardless of his end goal.Ansem SOD is literally a Heartless with a genius intellect and a warped world view. Nearly everything he did was out of genuine scientific curiosity according to TV Tropes at least.
ali3n.0bserv3r 6 Posted November 18, 2023 Why are you relying on TV Tropes 😭Comb through silent playthroughs like the rest of us (joking).
Snakeskin94 13 Posted November 18, 2023 The KH TV Tropes needs some updating but they're picky. I've tried to clean it up a few times but it's a lot of work.

KH Dandelion 0 Posted November 18, 2023 It basically says that Ansem SOD is depicted in 3 more like his KH 1 depiction which i agree with. He started out as a guy who while warped and amoral yet did everything he did out of legit curiosity while after that he basically just got obsessed with making riku give into darkness and be his vessel.Like in 3 he's basically depressed from knowing his actions will mean nothing and he's just a pawn and has basically just accepted his fate even though he could have actually switched sides in 3 but chose to stick with the path he found himself onand he can't make use of his epiphany cos its just gonna be removed from his memory in the end
ali3n.0bserv3r 6 Posted November 18, 2023 So. He's upset about facing the consequences of his actions?
KH Dandelion 0 Posted November 18, 2023 yah he came realized all he did was pointlesslike he takes no action to stop the kids from taking Ansem the wise for one. he just stopped caringeven though he could have used his epiphany and actively helped the GOL stop Old norteven if he's doomed to go back to his time and die with no memoriesbut didn'tthough i suppose not doing anything to stop hayner an co did helpeven if he didn't intend it to actively

KH Dandelion 0 Posted November 18, 2023 like among them YX and vanitas are the ones who have no kind of epiphany or moment of reflectionvanitas wholly accepts he's darkness and unrepententand young nort is a dick to the end
