ElectriCole 4 Posted November 16, 2020 Days seems like the most straight forward since it literally tells you what day it is
GoldenDrummer730#4323 24 Posted November 16, 2020 Days was CoM and a tiny bit of KH2 at the end
GoldenDrummer730#4323 24 Posted November 16, 2020 Technically KH1 since that was when Roxas was born
Plancake 3 Posted November 16, 2020 It overlaps with com for the first 60 days i think
ElectriCole 4 Posted November 16, 2020 Well, it never jumped it was always in order, it was just a very long time
ElectriCole 4 Posted November 16, 2020 Whereas in 0.2 it jumps from BBS ending to KH1 ending to pre-kh3
Icecl Keyheart 13 Posted November 16, 2020 It's a interesting perspective to go at it that way I would say back cover first and then Birth by Sleep it gives you the foretellers and everything right at the start and then they won't reappear until again way later at the very end and the whole BBS stuff also at the start which builds upon the eventual overall series
Superslash 5 Posted November 17, 2020 The weirdest part about playing the series in chronological order to me would have to be at BBS cus well, I mean Vanitas looks like Kh2 Sora and there’s post KH2 scenes at the very end of all the episodes, won’t be a problem if you know what’s going on but imagine if you actually told a friend to play it this way from the get go?
ElectriCole 4 Posted November 17, 2020 That's why you never tell a newcomer to play the games chronologically
GoldenDrummer730#4323 24 Posted November 17, 2020 release order just works
MeowWow 14 Posted November 17, 2020 Or you could live on the edge and play in what ever order you feel like while playing multiple at the same time like I did for optimal confusion
Superslash 5 Posted November 17, 2020 I truly pity the fool
MeowWow 14 Posted November 17, 2020 This fool is mostly fine in terms of lore comprehension, just a little lost on some of the details
Kittenz 4,281 Posted November 17, 2020 Release order works the best imo
moon☁ 10 Posted November 17, 2020 I like how all of this spawned from asking if y’all thought playing in timeline order would be fun ??? but yee. I agree with you guy. But I’d probably place Days before KH2.just because you kinda need Days to add context to the Roxas stuff, and I feel like you get more attached to the org members. Epheymer 14 Posted November 17, 2020 Play II before Days. It's like Crisis Core: knowing the main character will "die" no matter what makes the whole game devastating
moon☁ 10 Posted November 17, 2020 fjdkfjdj. I feel like the devastating thing could be applied the other way, too tho ? just... in a different way
Epheymer 14 Posted November 17, 2020 I think having seen Roxas's life in Days before KHII's prologue makes the latter less devastating. What makes this moment beyond depressing is that he learns everything he thought he knew was a lie. Like he thought he had a real life but he "lived" for a few days in a simulation. If you already know he had a full life before, it's less impactful I think
Lil' Tini 4 Posted November 17, 2020 So the only way to play days again would be to get the ds version right?I'm fine with that just wanna be sureI wanna get the games that aren't playable in the mixes i.e. recoded and daysDays more so tho as of rn, since I never got to fully play through all of it
Harveywallbanger 10 Posted November 17, 2020 The fact that Square placed Days in 1.5 and 2 in 2.5, thereby encouraging millions to experience Days first aches my heart
Epheymer 14 Posted November 17, 2020 I get the reasoning though: Days is KH1 sequel and coded KHII's
Lil' Tini 4 Posted November 17, 2020 Yeah, days was somewhat hinted at in the secret movie at the end of 1Which has a theme that is just amazingAnother Side I think it is calledGreat trackCorrect me if I'm wrong tho
ElectriCole 4 Posted November 17, 2020 I was thinking about this last night and why do so many side games have fake-out final bosses? It detracts from the whole ending of a game imo.Like Days, coded, bbs and ddd all have fake-outs and sometimes it felt like they had a final boss in mind but last minute threw in another boss
Superslash 5 Posted November 17, 2020 Ddd and bbs I get but yeah days and coded just felt like they had the whole idea of how it needed to end and then went oh wait we need just oooone more for story’s sake
ElectriCole 4 Posted November 17, 2020 I mean with bbs, you had this climactic battle between aqua and Terranort and then just oh yeah this random heartless creature. Roll creditsDDD I would maybe give a pass to but even still, you had anti black coat, 2 phases of Ansem, then Young Xehanort. Boom, then they tossed in armored ventus nightmare which was a cool fight, but I feel like should have been done after anti black coat and before ansem
