I think she managed to travel while ephemer did not or at least Ephemer arrived much earlier, just after the world stabilized after its destruction and he has enough time to make a new city and become a famous master, but I wouldn't be surpised if they are not related at all, like suddenly a baby appeared in scala and the lady adopted it

regardless of the "mother" I am more on the "X is Ava" boat, I think there's more signs pointing that way, first we KNOW something happened to her that made it so she wasn't able to be summoned by Luxu post KH3 (and that summon didn't seem to be voluntary, Ira (I think) didn't seem to be to happy about it) and now, having a piece of ancient darkness inside her heart would make her a more interesting test subject for Ansem to study than Skuld

 

Also, what the hell? When are we going to find out

what's the deal with Demyx he is supposed to be part of the ancient keyblade legacy as well
