inari_sune 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Its been the new tumblr since Tumblr shut that label offWhich is kinda sad ngl like you left a site because of the nsfw stuff got taken off
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 It's not sad if that's the only reason you're visiting
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Plus, I can see why Tumblr did it
HellboundOrc 2 Posted November 3, 2022 I mean, for NSFW artists and their devoted fans it makes sense. Why support a site that refuses to host your content?
inari_sune 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Makes sense
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Tumblr had illegal nsfw content
HellboundOrc 2 Posted November 3, 2022 So does Twitter
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Maybe not as bad
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 I think twitter has a better handle on securityOn Tumblr those illegal things went through the app filterWhich is why they shut it down
HellboundOrc 2 Posted November 3, 2022 That’s questionable with the new management. Especially with the rumors of major staff cuts coming.
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Yeah elon musk is taking overBut besides that, it's a lot better than Tumblr handling with that type of content
Yugin 1 Posted November 3, 2022 Ill stick around for a while before i say duck all and get myself banned while still doing morally acceptable things
Sam N 10 Posted November 3, 2022 That’s on the user, not on Twitter itself. “Safe harbor” laws exist to remove any liability on their part. The user would be the one in trouble. The only reason they would refuse to host nsfw content would be if they didn’t want to. Likely for brand and marketing purposes.
HellboundOrc 2 Posted November 3, 2022 My understanding was that Tumblr purged because of Apple cracking down on NSFW apps
Sam N 10 Posted November 3, 2022 Because it violated the App Store TOS, yes
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 I mean, wouldn't a lack of security over illegal porn cause damage to their brand? Also wouldn't it scare away investors?
Sam N 10 Posted November 3, 2022 Potentially, but there’s only so much you can do. People will post what they will post.
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Of course not, but you can limit it
Sam N 10 Posted November 3, 2022 Policing social media is a difficult task even with bots
LuciaBlu 0 Posted November 3, 2022 Yeah and maybe Tumblr bots weren't good enough for the task
