the puzzles in this game are bad, and there is no real concept of dungeon design

there are also minor gripes like how prompts for holding triangle not only take about 3x longer than any other game, but also wait until after it has been fully completed to even start the animation

There are a lot of really big "we spent a shitload of money on the graphics and production" moments, but then it's kinda littered with small issues that will aggravate people who have played a lot of games before

which is a shame because the combat really is very good

I firetrucking loved the game. There are some tiny annoyances in the gameplay but it didn't ruin the experience for me at all. The characters were fantastic, so much more expression and life in them, even to some of the side characters. Regarding the story, this will definitely be polarizing because of the ending depending on whether you have played the og before or not. Personally, I like the changes but it also depends on what they do in the future with them.

I feel other people who played the remake are overblowing it a bit regarding the ending, because I highly doubt it's going anywhere where they think it's going. It's just adding new stuff for the people who played the og while still keeping the main stuff there.
