To whose selfish benefit?

Jacob

It's incredible convenient.

Even w/ streaming services available, we get begged to put on YT and even have a mobile device on the side set to a child-restricted account for help w/ settling before it's time to say good night.

The suggestions algorithm could use some work as categories and sidebars don't fit sometimes.

So content that IS made for kids isn't ridiculed so harshly by the wrong audience in the comments section and goes to YT Kids.

The automated assumption is a bit harsh b/c they can see something as made for kids and mark it then take away monetization potential.

But the description also implies that there would be repercussions for creators not marking their content as one or the other despite there being an automated system in place.

R.I.P., personalized ads in those cases

Others that can be exempt from the category should be unaffected there, though.

There's actually a third category that is 18+.

There's not much leniency w/ YT, though, so maybe it's for content w/ foul language and animal gore, but that might violate the terms of monetization anyway.

I wouldn't say adult content would be permitted and is usually expunged, but there's content that slips through the cracks.

Any that have the flag or mark require login for age verification.
