In general tho, if you're on Proud
Equip yourself well, be max level, use Ultima, Oath keeper, eat food for Stat bonus, use a Kupo Coin

I don't think you're looking at this the right way. The point of combat isn't really to be hard as much as it is to provide a wide variety of ways to build a character.

I mean, there's a reason why Proud and Critical aren't the default difficulty.
