Cause there's a weird jump towards the end, too.

Sora is devastated, we hear the osment scream^tm

but then right after, he's all fine and dandy "Oh? Peeps are still alive? Cool!"

Like I feel like he would've had more of a sense of responsibility towards this

Like he felt guilted from the previous games of how naive he had become and wanted to set things right, even if Sora himself wasn't a part of it

but like that happens early on, only right after Herc's world, and Sora's beginning to think about it more and he has this awkward naivety to him like "Well, I do know pain... ugh I listen to screamo I'm so deep.."

because it's still the beginning of the game and Sora hasn't been 'cut loose' yet

he thinks he knows hurt, but in fact, he knows nothing

I feel like that scene of "I do know hurt" was supposed to mirror the osment scream^tm

well the one thing he does know is the loss of Kairi in KH1 and Riku falling into darkness and being unable to save him until much later

but to the extent of Ventus and Roxas and Xion within him, he knows much less

but i woudl still say he feels it, rather than knows it

and that in of itself confuses him greatly

i feel that it falls under the "Goku" syndrome where it's hard to take your main character down and make him different than how he was brought up

Sora HAS to be all spunky and friendly no matter what happens sort of thing ya know?

since we never get to see Sora at full rage or at full sadness. rarely if at all

I was kinda hoping we’d see Sora completely loose it in 3 after so many years of being told to keep positive and keeping that facade.

Yee, which is why I also feel like having done it better in kh3 would have made the intention of kh3 that much better as well

Like, kh3 is that bridge game to kh4. And though a bunch of stuff could have been better, I think the character development could have been better as well

Because it's going to be a new adventure, in new places with new ideas that we don't understand yet. And it can't be the same Sora, given everything that's happened

I feel like developing Sora, in the way that I think it should have happened at least, would have bridged into the new personality that we may/maynot see in 4

we get to see it a tiny bit more in ReMind but yes, it would have been really nice to see him just 1100% broken

i think the other thing that matters too is how quickly all this happens

so as a defense mechanism he has no choice to go back to being all spunk

I agree walrus. And like. In general, It’s kinda sad that the main trio is also the least developed.

And true, goldy. Maybe that eventually happens in the upcoming games??? :/

See Donald and Goofy are his anchors for a lot of the journey. where he would have broken, they are there to bring him back
See KH1 Hallow Bastion, KH3 before we enter KH to beat Xehanort, etc

His driving force in Kh1 and KH2 was to go and get back Kairi, whilst in KH3 it's a bit odd as he now has to beat a big bad to prevent him resetting the worlds and what not

but for Sora, that's not something he has ever had to think about/deal with
