i can honestly overlook the lack of a bambi world, assuming that they were going off of that logic. it's just one of those series that doesn't seem to lend itself well to the idea of a playable world

`im also tired of this fandom just going “kairi deserved better” and being done with it. like do you actually respect kairi, respect women??????? or is kairi not as valuable to this fandom because her trauma isn’t as obvious and violent as other girl characters’ traumas like aqua and xion??

like being left on destiny islands to live a normal life without her best friends (and the knowledge that there are other worlds out there, and they’re all in trouble) for an ENTIRE YEAR wasn’t isolating and lonely. like having her heart ripped from her body in kh1 wasn’t horrific. like being carted out in front of her loved ones in kh3 and being killed by xehanort like it was part of a show wasn’t disgusting. like getting swallowed by a cloud of shadows isn’t chilling. like getting kidnapped in kh2 wasn’t traumatizing.

not to mention that she definitely has a personality in canon, and hearing jokes about how she’s boring and bland in canon is really annoying, especially when you consider kh1 and kh2, where she’s spunky and independent and so, so willing to protect the ones she loves, even when she has like, 0 combat training. she jumps off of a ledge into a crowd of heartless without a keyblade just because theyre going after sora. she’s the first person to recognize riku while he looks like ansem sod; she sees through to her best friend’s heart.`

`her character is watered down in kh3, yes, but in that same game she’s working towards being a keyblade master alongside lea, and she’s the one who keeps sora together while he’s in the final world, because her love for him is that powerful (no this isn’t a shipping thing, she loves sora IN CANON whether its as a friend or whatever else). people don’t get to take the small amount she got to do in kh3 and erase it when she already does so little in that game!!! you just dont get to do that!!! let her have this!!!

this isn’t to say that the other kh girls’ traumas aren’t also horrible. aqua and xion are often both objects for the male character’s pain, and namine gets forgotten by the fandom too, but kairi experiences BOTH being used for manpain in canon AND being forgotten by fanon. and when she is given attention in the fandom, it’s just to be soriku’s girl best friend who exists to be their wingwoman, or it’s just “kairi deserves better”. so yeah, kairi does deserve better. i agree she does. so when is this fandom gonna start giving it to her`

not sure i quite agree, tbh

I guess his point is that they want the fandom to give her better rather than the games to do it for them

which makes sense on one hand, cause the fanart does Kairi lots of justice

but on the other, you can't rely on the fandom to do what the main people didnt

and im all for seeing more out of her character, i already got what i wanted from her in terms of her relationship to sora in KH3, and im super happy about that

but what people mainly care for in this series a lot of the time is combat, so in those regards no matter what we all want her to actually do a thing

For the most part I agree with this

it's a little aggressive about it but I think kairi has shown us a lot but could do to show us a lot more

I wish she wasn't forced to be used as a plot device

and for those have been around since the start, we really do want better for her

and hope we see her again

Like, it's why the paopu fruit in KH3 was so impactful for so many of us
because we had been waiting 17 years for it

we want their happiness, and if Kairi has to fight

she better fight her darnest and we better see it

cause that's what proves her love for Sora

It's why the end of KH2 is also just so so so impactful as a whole

That's very true,.. and there's definitely a point in how the fandom(not all of it) kinda at times wipes away what Kairi has done and calls it nothing,basically.. and times where the fandom has been really harsh,more than now,actually.

No one can ever say she has done nothing

she might not swing that keyblade around right or have combat skills

but as a supportive friend and beacon of hope for Sora

but that said,you're right.. She has done things. It may not be combat,but she has.. I think I said it,and a video said it as well,but KH3,this is the most Kairi has gotten to do,but it didn't quite hit what was expected,which I understand because it's what I expected.. I am indeed disappointed in not seeing more,but at the same time,I can't pretend this was noting for Kairi
